CHAPTER TWENTY-ONE:
STILL SEPTEMBER 4TH, 2004 SATURDAY
Brynn sat in the passenger seat of Kevin’s car as they drove away from the beach an hour later. They had watched the sunset, and after a few more kisses they decided to call it a night. She laughed. “I’m glad its dark. Because my hairs a mess.”
“What’s wrong with it?” Kevin asked, taking a right turn. Brynn rolled her eyes. “It has sand all over it.” She replied.
Kevin turned red, remembering what a great kiss they had in the sand. “Right.”
“Mhmmm!” She replied in a sing-song voice.
Kevin reached other and took her hand. Brynn smiled and began humming a song. Then she began sing. “I'm not a perfect person
There's many things I wish I didn't do
But I continue learning
I never meant to do those things to you
And so I have to say before I go
That I just want you to know.....”
Kevin smiled and joined in.
“I've found a reason for me
To change who I used to be
A reason to start over new
and the reason is youuuu!”
Brynn laughed. “I love this song!”
Kevin smiled. “Me, too. I think it’s number 8 on the charts..”
“Really?”
“Really.”
“That’s sweet.”
“Oh why yes it is.” Kevin agreed.
“It totally rocks.”
“It does.”
“It’s...amazing.”
“You have an amazing voice.” Kevin told her. Brynn blushed. “Thank you.”
“You’re welcome.”
Brynn squeezed Kevin’s hand, rested her head on the seat, then closed her eyes.

“Hey B....waaaaaake up.” Brynn felt someone shaking her. She opened her eyes and looked around. Kevin had parked his car in front of his house. Brynn laughed. “Did I fall asleep?”
Kevin nodded. “Yes m’am.”
“My bad.”
“It’s okay.” Kevin unbuckled and Brynn copied. Kevin glanced at Brynn. “I’ll walk you home.”
Brynn nodded and went to open the door, but Kevin grabbed her hand and pulled her towards him. He smiled and kissed her. After a moment, the two broke apart when they felt something on them. They turned around to see a blinding light shining in their faces. Brynn had her eyes closed, but Kevin saw who it was. He grunted. “Joe...what are you doing?!?”
Brynn made a face, and opened her eyes to see Joe standing in front of the car holding a flash light. “Joe?” She asked, leaning forward. Joe put down the flash light. “Bout time you got home.”
“Are we in trouble?” Brynn asked. Joe shook his head, and before he answered Kevin laughed. “Of course we’re not in trouble. Joe just wanted to ruin our fun.”
Brynn blushed bright red and playfully smacked Kevin’s arm. She grabbed her purse, opened the car door and walked down. Kevin followed. As Brynn walked past Joe, he made kissy faces and pretended to kiss the air. Brynn wacked him with her purse. “Dork!”
Joe began laughing. “Did you two have fuuuunn?”
“Yesss.” Brynn replied, rolling her eyes. Joe put his arm around her. “I have a question for you.”
Kevin came up behind them and put his arm around her as well. “What did you need?”
“Well I need to ask B. Not you.” Joe replied. As Kevin shook his head, Joe glanced at Brynn. “So..anyway. My mom wanted me to ask you if you’re doing anything next Friday?”
Brynn looked at a tree in front of them. “What day is that?”
Joe thought for a moment. “The 10th I think.”
“I start school this Monday....”
“Us, too.” Kevin informed.
Brynn smiled. “Good. Now I don’t feel left out. Okay..um the 10th? Next Friday?”
Joe nodded.
“Um...I believe I’m not doing anything.” She glanced at Joe. “Why?”
“Yeah,” Kevin agreed, also looking at his brother, “Why?”
“Because,” Joe began, “My parents and this guy over here,” He said, inclining his head towards Kevin, “ Are going out that night and I have to babysit Nick and Frankie. But my parents said If you want to help me they wouldn’t mind.” Joe paused, then. “Plllleeeaaase please PLEASE help me! I don’t think I can handle them by myself!!!!”
Brynn and Kevin began laughing. Brynn nodded. “Okay! Sounds great. Of course I will. I love you Jonas Boys. Especially Kevin.” She said, giving her boyfriend a kiss on the cheek. Joe smiled. He loved to see his two best friends so happy. After a moment, Brynn asked Kevin, “Where are you going?”
Kevin thought for a moment. “I think out to dinner with a bunch of relatives.”
“Ahhh. Fun!”
“Exactly.”
Brynn giggled. “Alrighty, boys. Time to walk me home.”
The three of them began walking. “Yes, m’am.” They replied. After a moment, they all laughed as they walked Brynn back to her house.

the next chapter is going to be Brynn and Joe babysitting Nick and Frankie! its going to be INTENSE! lol

aww...i loved it of course! lol i like how this story isn't all cutesy and overly done with the relationship stuff...it feels/sounds real. can't wait for the next chapter...sounds like it'll be good!

i was going to write and go straight to babysitting...but an idea hit me. so the NEXT chapter will be that. lol

CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO: “Oh My Gosh.”
SEPTEMBER 10TH, 2004 FRIDAY


“I really don’t know why mom and dad are letting you doing this, B.” Conner said, a few days later. He sat in Brynn’s room as she got ready to go over to the Jonas’ house. She rolled her eyes. “I’m going to BABYSIT, Conner. Not have sex.”
“Ohmygod stop.” Conner jumped. Brynn yet again rolled her eyes. “And for you FYI, Kevin’s not going to be there.”
“Joe is.”
“SO?”
“You went out once.”
“So? Joe and I went out ONCE. And it DIDN’T work out.” Brynn repeated, putting on more mascara.
“That’s a lot of makeup for a babysitting gig.” Conner observed.
“I’m going to see Kevin before he leaves.”
Conner scoffed and Brynn rounded on him. “Why do you hate him?”
“I don’t hate him.”
“Yes you do.” Brynn replied, as tears welled up in her eyes. “You haven’t spoken a word to him since we began dating. And don’t think he doesn’t notice. Hell, you talk to Nick and Frankie. You even ignore Joe! But not as much as Kevin. And he’s too sweet to say anything about it. Ever.” She began to let out everything she had been bottling up. “How do you think I feel that I can’t even be in the same room with my boyfriend and brother? You HATE him. WHY?”
Conner walked forward until they were inches apart. “It’s not Kevin. It’s any guy who likes you.”
Brynn looked up at him. “What are you afraid of? That I’ll make the same mistakes you did?” She saw the reaction on his face. “I know what you were doing at my age, Conner.” She said, quietly.
Conner sighed, looked away from his sister, then looked back at her. “I admit I did some things that maybe I wasn’t ready for. But at the time...they weren’t mistakes.”
“Do you regret them?” Brynn asked, looking at his feet.
Conner gave a laugh. “If I had it to do all over again...” Brynn glanced at him and he smiled. “I’d still make most of my mistakes over and over again.”
Brynn gave a small smile. “Did they make you a better person?”
“Some things.”
“You never did anything illegal...did you?”
Conner shook his head and gave another smile. “No.”
“Well then back to the point.” Brynn replied, “Why do you hate Kevin?”
“I told you I don’t hate him. It’s just he’s a guy who’s in love with my sister. I gotta get past that before I can actually like him.”
Brynn rolled her eyes, but smiled back. “Just give him a chance, okay?”
Conner was about to reply, but they were both called downstairs by their parents. Conner and Brynn darted out Brynn’s room and down the stairs. They found their parents standing in the livingroom smiling. Conner looked at them. “What’s up?”
Their mom smiled. “Your father and I have something to tell you..”
“Ohmygod.” Brynn squealed and began smiling.
“What? What are–..” Conner began, but Brynn was smiling and jumping up and down. “Ohmygod ohmygod!”
“WHAT?!!?!?”
“They’re having a baby!” Brynn squeaked in her brother’s face. She rounded on her parents. “That’s it, right???”
Her parents nodded and smiled. “We’re having a baby!!”
Brynn screamed. “OH MY GOSH!!!!!”
Conner twitched thinking of his parents doing anything. After a moment, he regained himself and gave them both a hug.
“When did this happen?” Brynn asked. “I mean...please DON’T tell me when. But...”
“I’m a month pregnant!” Mrs.Aston smiled.
“This happened when we had that ‘party weekend’, didn’t it?” Conner asked.
His parents gave a mischievous nod and Conner twitched again. Brynn rolled her eyes. “When is the baby due??”
“May!” Mr.Aston replied happily. Brynn jumped. “A spring baby!!?!?! awwwwwwwwww!!” She checked her watch. “Oh I got to go.”
Her mom kissed her. “Go sweetie.”
Brynn smiled and hugged her parents. “Congratulations!! I’ll see you tonight!” She grabbed her purse and darted outside the door and raced over to the Jonas’ house. When she knocked on the door, Kevin answered. She quickly gave him a kiss, grabbed his hand and ran inside. As she dragged Kevin through his house and up the stairs, Joe found them and followed. The three of them ended up in Kevin’s room. Brynn smiled. “My mom’s having a baby!!”
Joe’s mouth fell open and Kevin smiled.
“A baby!?”
“Oh, Brynn that’s awesome!”
“A baby!?” Joe repeated.
“When is it due??” Kevin asked.
“A baby?”
“This is amazing, Brynn.”
“A Baby!?!” Joe said yet again, and Kevin rounded on him. “YES a baby! A small human being? Usually really tiny?”
Joe rolled his eyes, then looked at Brynn and smiled. “Congratz, big sis!!!”
Brynn laughed, then stopped. “I’m going to be a big sister...I don’t think I’m ready for this.” She said, sitting on Joe’s bed. Kevin and Joe laughed.
“You’re going to be an amazing big sister, Brynn.” Kevin said, smiling.
Joe nodded. “Yeah! And if things work out tonight..you can have tons of practice by babysitting the boys for me.”
Brynn looked at them and gave a smile. “Well..I guess that could work.”
Little did they know what the night had in store for them...
