this is my fave chapter so far. I hope you like it. LOL!
CHAPTER SEVENTEEN: Rain, Rain..please stay and don’t go away.
Kevin scooped some chocolate ice-cream into a bowl and handed it to Frankie. The little boy looked at it. “I want more.” Kevin shook his head. “That’s enough. Now go into the living room with mom and dad.” Frankie pouted. “Okay...” He turned around and left the kitchen. Kevin laughed as he put away the ice cream and began washing the dishes. When he was done, he put them up on the counter for Joe to dry. He was about to call him when he saw something outside. He peered out the window. The rain was coming down hard and making everything blurry, but he could make out a person sitting on the sidewalk across the street. Kevin cocked his head. He had this weird feeling in his stomach. He grabbed his rain coat and poked his head into the living room. “Hey Joe, I’m done washing the dishes. It’s your night to dry. And mom, I gotta go outside for a sec. I’ll be right back.” His mom looked at him. “In this weather??” Joe cast Kevin a look, then got up and walked into the kitchen. Kevin nodded. “I won’t be long, mom. I promise.” And with that, Kevin dodged out of the livingroom when his mom nodded and said “Be careful ” Kevin raced into the kitchen, put on his jacket, and opened the door. “What the world are you doing?” Joe asked, putting away cups and plates. Kevin shook his head. “I have no idea.” He muttered as he closed the door and ran out into the rainy stormy night. Within seconds Kevin was soaked. He ran towards the edge of his lawn and squinted his eyes. He saw the figure sitting on the sidewalk. Kevin look both ways, waiting, then quickly crossed the street. As he got closer, he saw more and more of who it was. By the time he was 3 steps away, he knew without a doubt who was sitting there. “Brynn?” He called over the rain. She looked at up as he ran over to her and sat down. He took off his jacket and put it around her shoulders. It didn’t do much help, though. Brynn had been sitting there quiet some time and she was soaked. Kevin sat catty corned to her. “Brynn, what’s wrong? Are you okay?” He looked at her. She looked at him, then stared ahead. “I had a fight.” She said, calmly. Tears were streaming down her face and Kevin knew it was all she could do to stay calm. “With who?” He asked, scooting closer. “My brother.” She replied, still staring somewhere else. Kevin debated reaching out and touching her, but he refrained. “Are you okay, Brynn?” He asked, quietly. She didn’t reply. A few minutes went by and Kevin got worried. “Brynn...” he said slowly, scooting closer to her. Their bodies touched. “Brynn?” He whispered, gently grabbing her hand. At that point she lost it. She shook her head. “He yelled at me b-because I was alone in a room with y-you. He said he d-didn’t want you getting the wr-wrong idea!!” Brynn gave a bitter laugh as tears poured out of her eyes. “I t-told him you w-weren’t like t-that. He asked me if I liked you!” Brynn shook her head and began sobbing. “And I told him yes. And what hurts the most is that he asked me if you liked me and I d-didn’t know. And because I didn’t know the answer he made it seem like you only liked me b-because of one thing. And I h-hate that!” She basically screamed. Kevin couldn’t say a word; but his eyes were welling up with tears. Brynn grabbed her hair. “And n-now I feel like an idiot b-because he was right!” She kept shaking her head. “I was wrong and he was right. That’s the way it always is.” Brynn cast a glance at Kevin and gave another bitter laugh. “And now you’re sitting here and I k-know what you’re thinking.” She said quietly as she wiped her eyes. Kevin’s heart was racing at the speed of light. He squeezed her hand. “What am I thinking, Brynn?” he asked, looking at her. She glanced at him as if he was crazy. She was humiliated and he wanted her to say it? She stared at him. “You think I’m stupid and psychotic. Not to mention pathetic. And ...” To her surprise, Kevin began softly laughing and shaking his head. “Oh B, you really are always wrong.” Before she could answer, he had his lips on hers. At first, she thought of pushing him away, but when she realized it was Kevin, she kissed him back. He put his hands on her face and she wrapped her arms around him. Her heart was racing at the speed of light and she had butterflies. She felt him wrap one of his arms around her waist and she ran her fingers through his soaking wet hair. After a moment, he gently leaned forward, and she leaned back until her back hit the grass. Or in this case, mud. The moment she touched the ground, Kevin slowly pulled away from her, but only a little bit. Their foreheads still touched. Brynn giggled. “I think I’m covered in mud.” She whispered with her eyes closed. Kevin smiled and moved some of her long wet hair away from her face and kissed her softly. He pulled away. “I think you do.” He whispered back in her ear. Brynn giggled again when he kissed her neck. He looked at her. “I think I like you, Brynn. A lot.” Brynn kissed him. “I know I like you, Kevin. A lot.” Kevin chuckled and rubbed her cheek with his thumb. “Then I know I like you.” “I just said that.” Brynn laughed. Kevin gave her a playful kiss on the top of her nose. She smiled. “How come you let me go on like that?” She asked, as she looked up at him. He thought for a moment. “I don’t know...” He paused and smiled. “Guys love it when girls get all sappy and cry over them.” Brynn gasped and laughed. She playfully pushed him off of her and he landed in the mud. Brynn’s mouth dropped. “Oh Kevin I’m sorry!” Kevin grabbed her and pulled her on top on him. She giggled and pretended to try to get away. “Ew, Kevin! You’re covered in mud!!!” Kevin bursted out laughing. “News flash, sweetie. You are too.” “Really?” Brynn gasped. “Oh yes.” Kevin replied, nodding his head. Brynn giggled and looked down at him. Even though it was freezing in the rain, she felt warm with his arms around her. She stared into his eyes. “I think you have the most beautiful eyes I’ve ever seen.” Kevin smiled and kissed her. “I was actually going to say the same thing about you.” Brynn put her arms under her and gently propped herself up of Kevin’s chest. “Really?” She whispered. Kevin again brushed some hair away from her face. He looked at her eyes again. After a moment, he nodded. “Yup.” Brynn giggled. “Well, thank you.” Kevin looked around. “It doesn’t look like the rain is ever going to let up.” “Oh well.” Brynn shrugged. She then sighed. “Sooner or later Conner’s going to realize I’m gone and I don’t want him to come looking for me and ruin the best night of my life.” Kevin rubbed her arm. “This is the best night of your life?” Brynn nodded. “It is.” “Well that’s good.” “It is?” Brynn said again, in question form. Kevin laughed. “Yes. Because tonight is the best night of my life, too.” Brynn got off Kevin and stood up. She reached out her hand and helped Kevin up. She picked up his muddy jacket and gave it to him. “Then let’s end tonight...before my brother find me.” “Or mine.” Kevin agreed and Brynn laughed. “In a way...that would be funny.” Kevin smiled and shrugged. “It would be funny..but I’d rather not. I could live without that laugh tonight.” Brynn sighed again. “I should get going. Gotta go climb back up a tree.” “You climbed a tree?” Brynn winked. “Because I’m just awesome like that.” Kevin pulled her into his arms and gave her a goodnight kiss. “Yes you are.” He then hugged her. She wrapped her arms around him and burrowed her head into his neck. “Goodnight, Brynn.” Kevin said. Brynn squeezed him then pulled away. “Goodnight, Kevin.” He took a step back. “See you tomorrow?” She nodded. “Of course.” Kevin nodded back. “Guess I should be going now.” “Me, too. Before we both catch a cold...and die.” “Lord knows we DON’T want that to happen.” Kevin said. “Agreed.” Brynn waved and then ran to her house and the tree next to her window. She began climbing up. When she was safely through her window and in her house, Kevin ran home, smiling. Brynn smiled as she ran out her room and down the stairs. She got to the front window and pulled back the curtain. She watched Kevin walk home. Brynn smiled as she got those pesky butterflies again. Kevin walked into his kitchen and dropped his muddy coat in the laundry room. He turned around and saw Joe sitting on the counter. “What the heck were you doing? You were gone forever.” Kevin smiled. “Goodnight, Joe.” He began walking up the stairs. Joe ran up behind him. “You’re a mess! What did you do? Roll around in the mud?” Kevin smiled again. “Something like that.” Joe looked confused. “Whaaaat?” “Goodnight, Joe.” Kevin said again. And yet again, he was smiling.

CHAPTER EIGHTEEN: I’m Happy July 17, 2004, Saturday
“I honestly can’t figure out why you didn’t just TELL me. I can’t believe I had to find out like that.” Joe said for the hundredth-thousandth time. Brynn and the four Jonas boys were sitting in the Jonas’ livingroom. Nick was reading a comic book to Frankie, Brynn sat in Kevin’s lap as they sat on the couch, while Joe sat on the armchair opposite them. Kevin wrapped his arms around Brynn and rested his head on her shoulder. Brynn laughed. “I’m sorry, Joe.” She apologized for the hundredth-thousandth time. Joe rolled his eyes. “Sure you are.” Kevin squeezed Brynn. “Oh trust me..” he said, trying to be serious, “She’s sorry.” Brynn giggled and Joe grunted. “Sure you are.” He repeated. He then launched into the story again. The morning after Brynn and Kevin kissed, Kevin called Brynn and asked her to his house. She eagerly ran over. He met her in the yard, grabbed her hand and pulled her into the house. The moment they got into the kitchen, Kevin picked her up, kissed her, then asked her to be his girlfriend. When she said yes, smiling, he picked her up and kissed her again. A few minutes later Joe came downstairs and yelled. “...and there I was. Coming downstairs to eat some cornpops..and there was my brother making out with my bestfriend!” Joe cried again, “It was...DISGUSTING!” “It wasn’t THAT bad!” Brynn said, defensively. Joe nodded. “Oh yes it was! You guys were all over the place.” He shuddered. “It was way to early in the morning for that. And not to mention...I can’t believe you didn’t tell me! I had to find out!!” Kevin rolled his eyes. “Get...OVER IT!” “NO! It was...ugh.” Brynn smiled. “Can we please change the subject?” “Yes,” Nick piped up, “Or Frankie will tell mom that you guys wouldn’t stop talking about kissing.” “Frankie?” Joe asked, rasing his eyebrows. “Yesssss. I won’t tell. But Frankie’s a baby.” He whispered. Kevin, Brynn, and Joe laughed. After a moment, he stood up. “I’m hungry.” Kevin buried his face in Brynn’s shoulder. He breathed on her neck and she giggled. “Go eat.” He said lazily, his voice muffled. Joe looked at Brynn and she flashed a smile. She truly looked happy. Joe smiled back then stretched. “Well I guess I’ll go make myself something.” He bowed. “Goodbye.” And with that, he left. After a moment, Nick got up and ran into the kitchen, with Frankie following him, leaving Brynn and Kevin alone. Brynn began humming a tune and Kevin began swaying back and forth. Brynn smiled. “I’m very glad I moved here.” Kevin hugged her, then picked her legs up and moved them around, so she was sitting on his lap while her feet propped up on the couch. Kevin took her hand. “I’m very glad you moved here too.” Brynn smiled and kissed him. She shimmed a bit and rested her head on his shoulder. Kevin wrapped his arms around her. “I’m bored.” Brynn giggled. “Sorry I’m not entertaining enough for you.” Kevin laughed. “No baby, I wasn’t talking about you. I mean, I want to get out of here. I want to go somewhere. What time is it?” “10:35am.” Brynn replied, grabbing his watch. Kevin thought for a moment. “Let’s go to the beach.” “Right now?” Brynn asked, sitting up a bit, looking at him. “Right now.” He replied. Brynn smiled. “By ourselves?” “Yes. Unless you want my whole family tagging along.” Brynn shook her head. Kevin smiled. “Let’s go.” She laughed and jumped up. “Lemme go next door and get my stuff.” Kevin kissed her. “Don’t stay to long.” “I won’t!” And with that, she was gone. 20mintues later, Brynn and Kevin were in his car driving away. Brynn giggled. “So what did your family say about us going?” Kevin took her hand and drove with his left hand. “They were like ‘okaaay.’ Joe wanted to go...but I told him no.” Brynn smiled as she watched Kevin drive. The way he laughed, smiled, or the way he’d look over at her and squeezed her hand. Brynn rested her head on her seat. She was happy.

;D ;D ;D ;D sorry this chapter is short, too! but more will come soon! CHAPTER NINETEEN: Girls are more trusted then Guys
Brynn looked at Kevin’s gas meter. “You’re on E.” “No I’m not,” Kevin replied, taking a right at a stop sign, “I’m above E.” “Uh, no you’re not. It’s on E.” “Brynn, it’s my car. I know if..” She shook her head. “Are you blind, sweetie? You’re on E! You have to stop up at that Shell Station.” Kevin laughed. “Oh my god, Brynn, you’re obviously-.” “Obviously , what? Kevin..YOU’RE ON E!” Brynn stopped, and shook her head. “Only me!” She muttered. “What?” Kevin glanced over to her. She rolled her eyes. “Only me would have my first fight with my first boyfriend about his effing gas-meter!” Kevin was quiet for a moment, then he laughed. “#1, I hardly doubt this is a fight. #2, did you just say ‘effing’? And #3, I’m your first boyfriend?” Before she could reply, Kevin pulled his convertible into the gas station. Brynn smiled in triumph. Kevin pulled his car next to a pump. Since the car top was pulled back, he didn’t have to roll down the window to meet the guy at the pump. He looked about 18 or so, and he had black hair and blue eyes. He looked right past Kevin and looked at Brynn. “Hey,” he smiled. “What can I get you?” Kevin rolled his eyes and pulled out some money and handed it to him. “$25 worth, please.” At first, the guy only stared at Brynn. Kevin didn’t have to ask what that guy was thinking. It was all over his face. Kevin cleared his throat loudly and the guy snapped out of it and took the money. He winked at Brynn before pumping the gas. Brynn searched her purse, then grunted. “I forgot my chapstick.” Kevin awkwardly reached into his pocket, pulled out his and gave it to her. She smiled. “Thanks!” As she began putting it on her lips, Kevin looked at her. “So...I’m your first boyfriend?” He asked quietly. No name was humming a song as he pumped the gas. She nodded and handed him back the lipwear. “Mhm. You were even my first kiss, too.” Kevin suddenly became awkward. He glanced at her. She was going through her purse as she said that. Just as casually as she could. But for Kevin it wasn’t as casual. Brynn didn’t look her age. In fact, she looked and acted much older that she was. It a non-bad way. And even though she was skinny and tiny, she defiantly had curves. Kevin had kissed girls before, though. He coughed. No name gave Kevin the receipt, winked at Brynn, and Kevin drove off. When they were back on the road, Kevin looked at Brynn. “The other night was your first kiss?” Brynn froze. “Uh? Yes...” Kevin smiled. “Well, that’s cool.” “I guess.” She shrugged. “But don’t worry. It was the sexiest first kiss ever. I didn’t know I could ever feel that way.” Kevin instantly turned red. He changed the subject. “You know what I hate?” “Fruit?” Brynn asked, not paying attention. “Yes. But-“ “YOU HATE FRUIT?” Brynn’s head snapped in his direction. “I was kidding!!” Kevin shook his head. “Yes. Now I hate how that guy was looking at you.” “What guy?” “The guy at the station.” “He wasn’t staring.” Kevin laughed out loud. “Uh, yes he was. He was staring so hard I thought he was going to knock the car over.” Brynn looked at him, then smiled. “Aww! You’re jealous!” “Am not.” Kevin said, turning on the radio. Brynn waited for him to get to a station, then she turned it off. “That’s really cute, Kevin.” Kevin rolled his eyes, but Brynn smiled. “You’re jealous.” Kevin grabbed her hand. “Am not. He was just a slime-ball.” “Riiiight. See, it’s cute when guys get jealous over other guys. But when girls get jealous over other girls? Not so much.” “Why?” “Because. Most of the time...guys can flirt with girls..and the girls do nothing about it. And most of the time...when girls flirt with guys, the guys do SOMETHING about it.” “And how do you know that?” Kevin asked, looking at her smiling. “Eyes back on the road.” She replied. “Right. Now why?” “Because most of the time..girls are more trusted than guys.” Kevin squeezed her hand and smiled again. “I see.” “So honestly,” Brynn said after a while, “You hate fruit?” “Yes.” “Freak.” “Meanie.” “Much love.” Brynn replied, giggling. Kevin’s eyes lit up and he smiled. He took another turn. “We got about five minutes.” “Wicked. I’m hungry. Did we pack fruit?” Kevin laughed. “Har har. Funny.” Brynn leaned over, ruffled his hair and kissed his cheek. “You’re so cute.” “Diddo.”
