CHAPTER SEVEN: Joe’s Birthday Party. Part 3.

After Joe had opened all his presents, the party went on for a little while until everyone started to leave gradually. By 8:30, everyone was gone except Brynn, Conner, Mandy, and the Jonas’ boys. They all stood in a circle staring at each other until Mr.Jonas walked in the room. “It’s still light outside. So if you guys want, you can go in the pool.”
Joe looked at Brynn. “That sounds fun ”
Shenodded. “Sure ”
Mrs.Jonas then came in and handed Mandy and the girls their bags and told them they can change in her bathroom. “So nobody will bother you.” She told them smiling. As the boys ran off into the other rooms, Mandy and Brynn made our way upstairs.
“So,” Mandy began as she stepped into Mrs.Denise’s bathroom and shut the door. “Are you having fun?”
I leaned against the door to hear her. “I’m having a blast. The Jonas family are so nice.”
“They are the nicest family you’ll ever meet.” She heard Mandy say through the door.
She took her bathing suite out of the bag. “How long have you known them?”
Mandy opened the door and stepped out. She looked so gorgeous in her little bikini. She let Brynn pass her and she shut the door to the bathroom and began to undress.
“I’ve known them like my whole life.” Mandy answered her question.
Brynn quickly put on her lime green bikini. She fixed her hair a bit and walked out the door. Mandy smiled at her. “So which one do you like?”
“What?” She said, quickly walking out of the room. Mandy followed her. “You heard me. So which boy do you like? Frankie is way to young...and Nick? Well if you dig little 11 year olds...”
She laughed nervously. “I don’t like them.”
Mandy stopped her on the steps. “So it’s either Joe or Kevin.”
“Do you like any of them?” Brynn asked cautiously.
“Me? HA!” Mandy shook her head. “They’re like my brothers. Now back to the question. Who?”
Brynn shrugged. “I dunno..”
“Well I know for a fact both of them couldn’t keep they’re eyes off you.” She replied, walking down the steps.
Brynn stood there with my mouth open. “Mandy, wait!” She ran down the steps towards her.
“What?”
“Are you serious?”
She gave a smile. “I don’t lie.”
She stood there for a moment. “What are they like?”
Mandy took their bags and stuck them on a couch. “As in..?”
She shrugged again. “I mean what do they like to do?”
Mandy looked at her, then looked around. After a moment, she grabbed Brynn’s hand and they raced up the stairs into a random room. Mandy basically threw her in and then shut the door when she followed. Brynn looked around. “Who’s room in this?”
Mandy sat down on a bed and made Brynn sit on the other. “It’s Kevin and Joe’s. And you’re sitting on Kevin’s bed.”
She blushed. Mandy noticed, because she smiled. “Ahh..Okay. So you want to know about them?”
Brynn nodded slowly.
“Okay. Listen up. Joe loves music, and he’s in a few show in Broadway along with Nick.”
Brynn’s mouth fell open. “They’re in BROADWAY?!”
“Yup! Now, Joe loves to run like every morning. He’s favorite colors blue, he likes to play Wiffle ball, and he thinks he’s the coolest thing in the world.”
“And he can make anyone smile..” Brynn said in a daze.
Mandy bursted out laughing and Brynn turned red again. “Shut upp!!!”
She calmed down. “Okay, I’m sorry. Well, You’ll fine out more about Joe in time I guess.”
“What about Kevin?” Brynn asked, looking at a picture of him and Joe on their night stand.
Mandy thought for a moment. “He’s the sweetest person you’ll ever meet. He’s quiet, yet extremely goofy and makes you smile. He gets all freaky around Christmas; he loves it. He’ll beat anyone at Monopoly. And hm...let me see...He thinks Latin is really interesting.”
She smiled. “He sounds amazing....”
Mandy smiled back. “He is.” She stood up. “Lets go see these amazing boys.”
Brynn stood up. “Don’t tell them I asked you about them. I don’t want them to think I’m some stalker...”
Mandy giggled and walked to the door. “I know for a FACT they don’t think that.”
Brynn’s head snapped in Mandy’s direction. “WHAT?”
She began skipping out the door and down the stairs.
“MANDY!! WHAT ARE YOU TALKIN ABOUT!?” Brynn began chasing her out the house. She was laughing the whole time. By the time they got outside, Frankie, Conner, and Nick were in the pool. Before she could talk to Mandy, she jumped in the pool. She sighed. Kevin saw her and smiled. “Hey Brynn. Did you find everything okay?”
She nodded. “Mhm. Thanks.”
Kevin looked at the pool and then at her. “Ready to go in?”
“Sure!”
They both walked up to the side of the pool. Kevin looked at her. “Lets jump in on 3, okay?”
She giggled as he took her hand.
“One....two...” He began but was cut off by Joe’s screaming.
“BRYYNN!!!!!” Joe was the last thing she saw before she was thrown into the pool. Well, Joe picked her up and jumped in with her. Under the water Brynn swore she heard Kevin yelling, then she saw a figure dive into the water. The next thing she knew, she was lifted out of the pool and there was a soaking wet Kevin standing over her. “Are you okay?”
Brynn coughed and began laughing. She sat up with Kevin’s help. “I’m fine! Was that Joe?”
Joe kneeled down and smiled. “Yeaa...Are you mad?”
Brynn smiled. “NO! But now I gotta get you back!!”
Joe jumped up. “Uh-oh.”
Brynn got up as well. “Oh yeah.” She began charging towards Joe. He grabbed her and they both fell into the pool. When they came up, Joe had his arms around Brynn and they were screaming with laughter.
Kevin stood up slowly and sighed. He turned around but stopped when he heard she sweet voice.
“Are you coming in, Kevin?”
Kevin smiled. “Of course.”
And with that, he ran into the pool with his family and friends. Kevin swam over to Brynn. “Hey.” He smiled.
“Hello.” Brynn replied. She then splashed him and began laughing. Kevin smiled. “So we’re going to play like that?” He grabbed her and began tickling her. She began kicking and screaming. “NO FAIR!”
“You give up?” Kevin asked.
“YES!”
Kevin let go of her. “Okay.”
“Ima get you for that.”
“Sure....”
Brynn went to play slap him and he grabbed both of her wrist. They stared at each other for a moment. Kevin gave a smile and let go of her wrists. Brynn gave a laugh but on the inside wished he didn’t let go. She began feeling weird again. She held her breath and went under water. After a moment, she came up and saw Kevin water wrestling with Joe. She glanced at Mandy, who was playing with Frankie. Then she glanced at Nick, who was sitting at the edge of the pool. Brynn made her way over to him. “Mind if I sit down?”
Nick nodded. “Sure.”
Brynn smiled and sat down. “What’s up?”
Nick shrugged. “Nothing much.” he looked at her. “You like one of my brothers, don’t you?”
“Is it that obvious?”
Nick shrugged again. “I just observe things.”
“Well...”
“So you do?”
“I guess.”
“Which one?”
“That,” Brynn mumbled, hopping back into the pool, “Is still a question to me to.”

Chapter 8 is here!!!! ;D ;D ;D

Chapter 8- Joe's Birthday Party. Part 4 and final part.
After swimming in the pool for a few hours, Mandy told the Jonas’ she had to go. She hugged Joe. “Happy birthday, kiddo.”
Joe hugged her back. “We’re the same age.”
“True.” Mandy laughed, then faced Brynn and Conner. “It was great meeting you guys.”
Conner waved and Brynn smiled. “You too! Thanks. You know, for everything.”
Mandy smiled back and winked. “No problem.”
She then hung around for a few minutes, and then she left the Jonas’ house; leaving Brynn and Conner the only guest. After a moment, Joe looked at Brynn. “Can I talk to you for a minute?”
Brynn glanced at her brother. “Five minutes?” she asked and he nodded. “Five minutes. The we have to go.”
“Okay!” Brynn smiled at Joe and he returned the expression. He then began to lead her upstairs. “Mom, dad, we’ll be right back.” Joe called to his parents. As she walked by the Jonas’, she caught Kevin’s eye. He gave a weird look and shook his head. Brynn bit her lip, but then laughed as Joe tripped as they walked up the stairs. “My bad..” Joe mumbled, turning red.
“Naw,” Brynn started, “I thought it was funny.”
Joe was about to respond when he heard,
“No longer than five minutes. And you better keep that door open Joseph Adam Jonas,” his mother called up, “You still have to obey the rules.”
Brynn blushed and Joe grunted. “Sorry about that.”
Brynn shrugged. “If it makes you fell any better, I can’t have guys in my room.”
Joe flashed a smile. “I guess so.”
They walked for a moment until they entered a room. “Welcome to my room.” Joe said, happily.
“I know.” Brynn replied, then coughed. “Anyway, what did you want to talk to me about?”
Joe looked at her. “Thank you for my present. It must have cost a lot. “
Brynn held up her hand. “You’re welcome, Joe. But it doesn’t matter how much it cost. As long as you like it.” As she said this, Brynn realized that the Jonas’ weren’t as rich as her family was, but that didn’t matter to her. She didn’t care about the money, or the expensive toys, the fancy parties her mom would throw; she just care about the people. What they had in their heart...not their bank. As she looked at Joe’s face of gratitude, she smiled. “But thank you...for thanking me.” She giggled and he smiled. Joe then took a step closer to her. “I’m glad I met you, Brynn.”
She blushed. “I’m glad I met you, too, Joe. All of you.”
“Do you think you can come over sometime to play? I mean, war. With paint ball.”
“Of course. On one condition. You are NOT on my team.”
Joe looked crushed. “What?”
Brynn nodded. “That’s right. I don’t want you on my team....”
“I’m not that bad...”
“...I don’t want you on my team because I wanna beat you.”
They both smiled and Joe laughed. “I believe you’re underestimating the undying power of Joe.”
“PSH! Please, what power? I’ll crush you!”
Joe took a step closer; the two were inches apart. “Is that a challenge?” He asked, looking down at her.
Brynn looked up at him and cut her eyes. “Well I’m not exactly inviting you to tea....” She took a step back. “BUT! Tomorrow’s my birthday! SO I am inviting you to my party. We’re renting a boat to cruise around New York Harbor. I would love for you and your family to come.”
Joe gaped. “New York Harbor?”
“NO!” Brynn said, laughing. “We’re going to see a movie. Then out to dinner. Would you like to come?”
“Sounds great.” Joe smiled.
Bryn nodded and walked out of the door. “Cya later, dork. Oh, Happy Birthday again.”
Joe sat down on his bed. “Cya!! And thanks.”
Brynn leaned against the door, then walked down the hallway. As she turned the corner she crashed into something. Or someone. “Oh I’m so sorry!!” When she saw who it was, she turned bright red. “I’m really sorry...”
Kevin laughed. “That’s okay. I was actually supposed to come up and get you.”
“Am I in trouble?” Brynn asked playfully.
He shook his head. “Nooo. But your five minutes are up.”
“Ahhh. Do your parents not trust a wild girl like me???” Brynn teased and Kevin flashed the cutest smile.
“Quite the opposite, actually.” Kevin replied, leaning against the wall with his side.
“They don’t trust JOE?” Brynn asked incredulously, copying Kevin. He nodded. “Duh. No guy should be trusted to be alone in a room with you.”
Brynn turned super-bright red. “Stop...” She said, giving an embarrassed smile.
“Just saying...”
“Oh,” Brynn started, trying to change the subject, “My birthday’s tomorrow...”
“I didn’t forget.” Kevin cut her off, obviously hurt she thought she had to remind him. Brynn didn’t know how to respond to that, so she continued talking. “Um..anyway. My family’s taking me out to the movies and then we are going to watch a movie. Then dinner. Wanna come?”
Kevin thought for a moment. “What movie?”
Brynn laughed. “If it’s a chick flick you don’t wanna go...”
“Oh yes,” Kevin teased.
“Well, actually, I was thinking of some new movies that just came out. Like..I, Robot...The Village...or Spider Man 2.”
“The Village.”
Brynn looked at him. “You’ve seen it?”
Kevin nodded. “Yea. It’s pretty good. But scary.”
“You don’t I can handle it?” Brynn joked.
“Well,” Kevin began, “ I could sit next to you if you get scared.”
Brynn blushed. “I’d like that.” She stood straight and began walking to the stairs. “Thanks for inviting me. See you tomorrow night around...4? Meet up at our house. Your whole family is welcome.”
Kevin nodded, then, “Oh! What’s you’re favorite color?”
This surprised Brynn. “Um...green.”
“Mine, too..” Kevin smiled.
Bryn returned the expression, then hurried down the steps to her brother calling her.
Kevin watched her leave, then walked into his room where he saw Joe laying on his own bed smiling.
“What’s with you?” Kevin asked, taking off his shoes.
Joe looked at Kevin. “Can I ask you a favor?”
Kevin looked into his younger brothers eyes and knew instantly. Every fiber in his body was protesting, but he said, “I’ll let you hang with her tomorrow...”
Joe smiled. “Thank you, Kevin. I owe you one. I like her a whole lot...”
“Happy birthday, Joe.” Kevin replied, getting up and walking into the other room. He walked into the bathroom, turned on the light and looked in the mirror. A small tear fell down his face as he grabbed his tooth brush and turned on the water.
