Audition
Joyce was pacing around her room frantically, talking to herself. 'I can't do this. What the hell was I thinking? I can't perform the song in front of the producers!'
Her best friends, Miley, Demi and Selena were sitting on Joyce's bed watching their friend going back and forth. 'J, calm down, you'll make a hole in the floor if you don't stop pacing like that!', said Miley.
'Guys, I haven't sang in front of people since...' Joyce's voice trailed off; a flashback started to play in Joyce's mind.
A stormy evening. The school parking lot. Joyce was walking towards her car after basketball practice with the school's girls team. There was no one there. At least, that's what Joyce thought. She was only a few feet away from her car when someone grabbed her from behind and threw her on the ground. Joyce's head hit the concrete with a thud. She felt a sharp pain and then... Nothing. The next thing she knew, she was in a hospital bed, and her head was throbbing. Her mom came in with the doctor, both looking serious and worried. The doctor started explaining to Joyce how she got in the hospital. But she wasn't paying much attention. She only heard 1 word, and she heard it over and over again: raped.
Joyce snapped back to reality when she felt a hand on her shoulder. 'Are you okay, sweety?', Selena asked, worried by the terrified look on Joyce's face. 'Uh, yeah. I'm fine. It's just, I keep seeing the guy's face. It's like he's haunting me or something.' After that night, Joyce started remembering things about what had happened. One of those things was the face of who had done this to her. That memory sent her into a depression. Before it had happened, she had been a happy teenage girl with a passion for music and the best boyfriend in the world. Or at least she thought she had that second thing. Because when she remembered the guy's face, she was horrified: it was Marcus, her boyfriend!
The attack had turned a very promising musician and basketball player into a depressed, sad girl who shut herself off from her family, her friends, and, the world. She had stopped playing music and writing songs, until Miley (who she had been friends with since forever, because their moms were also best friends) convinced her to start writing and playing again. Actually, writing music again turned out to be some kind of therapy to Joyce, because her friends could see a little bit of the old Joyce starting to come back out from time to time.
'What if they don't like the songs?', Joyce asked, still anxious. 'Then they're idiots.' Said Demi. 'Your songs are amazing and your voice is like I've never heard before in my life. They'd be stupid not to pick you.' Miley added. A little bit reassured, Joyce and Miley left for the Disney Studios, where the auditions would be held. Selena and Demi stayed at Joyce's house, waiting to hear how the audition went.
At the studio, Joyce and Miley were sent to a little waiting room until it was Joyce's turn to go and audition. A woman with long blonde hair walked in and told Joyce it was her turn to audition. Joyce stood up and grabbed her guitar. 'Okay... Here it goes...' Miley had also stood up and walked over to Joyce. 'You'll do great, honey.', Miley said as she hugged her best friend to wish her good luck. In the room where the auditions were held, were 4 people at a table in the middle of the room. 2 of the producers, the director and the choreographer of the movie were sitting at the table, discussing the girl that had auditioned before Joyce. 'Good afternoon, Miss Sanders. How are you today?', said the director (Matthew Diamond). 'I'm good, thanks.', Joyce replied shyly. 'I see that you're quite the songwriter. I've heard a lot of things about your voice as well. I wanted to see for myself if the stories I heard were true. And if they are, I think you have a good chance of becoming our leading lady for the movie.', Mr. Diamond said. 'I don't know which of the songs you've rehearsed, but I want to hear you sing 'This Is Me', because that is going to be the most important song in the movie and I need to make sure you can sing the song with the right emotions in it.' 'Whenever you're ready, Joyce.', added one of the producers.
Joyce started strumming the guitar and started singing.
I've always been the kind of girl That hid my face So afraid to tell the world What I've got to say But I have this dream Bright inside of me I'm gonna let it show, it's time To let you know To let you know
This is real, this is me I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be, now Gonna let the light, shine on me Now I've found, who I am There's no way to hold it in No more hiding who I wanna be This is me
Do you know what it's like To feel so in the dark To dream about a life Where you're the shining star Even though it seems Like it's too far away I have to believe in myself It's the only way
This is real, This is me I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be, now Gonna let the light, shine on me Now I've found, who I am There's no way to hold it in No more hiding who I want to be This is me
You're the voice I hear inside my head The reason that I'm singing I need to find you, I gotta find you You're the missing piece I need The song inside of me I need to find you, I gotta find you
This is real, this is me I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be, now Gonna let the light, shine on me Now I've found, who I am There's no way to hold it in No more hiding who I want to be This is me You're the missing piece I need The song inside of me (this is me) You're the voice I hear inside my head The reason that I'm singing Now I've found, who I am There's no way to hold it in No more hiding who I want to be This is me
After Joyce had finished the song, the 4 people at the table were all clapping their hands in admiration. Matthew Diamond, the director said that she had done an amazing performance and that she had made the song sound exactly like he wanted it to sound. Then he added one more thing: 'You are our Mitchie.'
Joyce couldn't believe what she had just heard: she was going to be starring in a Disney Channel Original Movie alongside Joe Jonas!
After getting a few formalities done, Joyce walked out of the room and back to where Miley was waiting for her. As soon as she walked in, Miley was on her feet and started bombarding her best friend with questions: 'How was it?, What's the director like?, What did they think?' 'Calm down, Miles.', Joyce laughed. 'It went great.' Joyce stopped and said with a dramatic face: 'Pause for dramatic effect.' 'What? What? What? Tell me, come on!!', Miley insisted. 'Okay, fine. I got the part!!' Joyce and Miley both started jumping up and down and saying: 'Yay yay yay yay yay yay!!!'
'Oh my God!! That's awesome!!', said Demi when Joyce and Miley returned from the audition. 'Yeah, totally!', Selena added enthousiastically. 'You guys seem more excited than I am.' Joyce teased. 'OMG! What if Joe like, falls in love with you while you're filming? How cool would that be?!' Miley, dreamed out loud. 'Yeah right, Miles. Like a rockstar like Joe Jonas would fall in love with a "Newbie" like me.', Joyce said in a sarcastic tone. 'Are you kidding?! You are one of the most beautiful people I know. And I mean inside and out!' Miley said. She continued: 'All Joe has to do, is take 1 look at you and he'll fall head over heels for you!'
Joyce had no idea that Miley's 'dreaming-out-loud' ranting might just become reality...

Chapter 2: Off to camp...
2 weeks after Joyce had gotten the part in Camp Rock, she and Miley were at Joyce's house, packing her bags for the 3-month filming of the movie in Canada.
'I still can't believe I'm not gonna be seeing you for 3 MONTHS!' Miley said with a sad expression on her face.
'I know, Miles. I'm so gonna miss you.', Joyce replied as she walked over to Miley to hug her. Both girls got a little teary-eyed at the thought of not seeing each other for so long.
'Okay.', Joyce said as she wiped the tears from her eyes. 'We're not doing this now, alright? We still have until tomorrow, right? Let's just have fun and... save the crying for tomorrow. What do you say?' Joyce said as she playfully punched Miley's arm.
'That sounds like a plan.', Miley sighed. 'Let's talk about something else. Like, how this movie is going to be your big break!'
Joyce rolled her eyes and said to her over-enthousiastic best friend: 'Miley, we haven't even started filming yet. For all we know, the movie could suck.'
Now it was Miley's turn to roll her eyes. 'Dude, are you crazy? It's got the JONAS BROTHERS in it! Practically everything they touch turns to gold. And, YOU are in the movie too. You have like the most amazing voice ever. It's a killer combination with you and the guys.'
'Well it's nice to know you believe in me like that. It means a lot, you know.' The girls grew silent for a few minutes and Joyce knew that it wouldn't take long before it would turn into another sob fest.
'Anywhooooooooooooooo.', Joyce said and both girls laughed. 'Let's get this stuff packed and then we cam go get some lunch.'
So the girls did the rest of the packing and went out to get a bite to eat. The rest of the day flew by and before they knew it, the girls were at the airport, saying their goodbyes.
'I can't believe I'm crying again.', Miley sobbed.
'I know, right? We're such whimps', Joyce laughed through her tears.
Through the intercom a voice announced the final boarding call for Joyce's flight. The girls looked at each other and Joyce pulled Miley in for one last hug.
'I'm gonna miss you so much, Miles.', Joyce said as she let go of her and grabbed her carry-on luggage that was sitting on the floor.
'Me too.', Miley said as Joyce was turning around to walk towards the gate.
She turned around for one quick hug and said: 'I love you, Miles. You're my best friend.'
'I know', answered Miley. 'Now go, before the plane leaves without you and the movie has to go on without the lead actress.'
Joyce laughed and then ran to the gate to board the plane that would take her to Canada and, who knows, her true love...
Okay, since this chapter is kinda really short, I'm going to put the next chapter here too.
Chapter 3: Sparks
When Joyce arrived at the hotel the next day, she was greeted by the director, Matthew Diamond.
'Hey, Joyce, how are you doing? Was the flight okay?'
'Yeah, the flight was alright. Just this one kid who thought the back of my seat was a punching bag, and kept kicking against it the whole time, but other than that it was cool.', Joyce said very casually.
'Glad to hear', said Matthew. 'So how would you like to get settled in your room? You're sharing it with Alyson. Have you met her yet?'
'No, I haven't, actually, so I'd like to if that's okay.'
'Of course. I'll walk you to your room and I'll introduce you girls.' Matthew started walking toward the elevators and Joyce followed behind him.
When they got to the room, he knocked on the door and Alyson opened it. Meaghan, Anna Maria and Jasmine were also there.
'Oh, you're all here', said Matthew. 'That's good, then I can introduce you to your co-star.'
He moved out of the way to let Joyce in.
Alyson was the first to introduce herself. 'Hi, I'm Alyson. I'm looking forward to getting to know you.', she said as she and Joyce shook hands. The others followed Alyson's example.
After 15 minutes of introductions, Matthew stood up. 'I'll give you girls some privacy so you can get to know each other. Just don't forget we're having a welcoming dinner with the entire cast and crew tonight at 8, okay?'
Jasmine then opened what would turn out to be a 4-hour long conversation. 'So, where are you from, Joyce?'
All 5 girls started talking about their lives and about how excited they were about the movie and about working with the Jonas Brothers. When, Joyce looked at the time, she was all of the sudden alarmed.
'Uh, guys?', she said while looking at the clock on the bedside table. 'It's 7.30PM. We have to be downstairs in a half an hour!'
The girls looked at each other and all jumped to their feet at the same time.
When Meaghan, Anna Maria and Jasmine were gone, Alyson and Joyce got some time to talk in private. Talk and get dressed, that is.
'You have a really awesome voice, you know. Matthew played your audition tape for us earlier.' 'Thanks', Joyce answered, slightly blushing because of the unexpected compliment.
After that, Alyson was silent for a moment. Then she continued. 'I talked to Demi the other day. She told me you didn't want to audition at first. Why? I mean, your songs are great.'
Joyce looked down. 'Uhm, yeah. I've, uhm, been through some bad times in the past few years and I kinda handled them the wrong way.' Joyce could see the confusion in Alyson's eyes.
'Let's just say that, I lost a few people and that in stead of using my music to try and deal with it, I turned my back on it and started hanging out with the wrong people. Although I didn't he was "wrong people" until 6 months ago.'
Joyce put down the pair of jeans that she was going to wear and sat down on the bed. She told her the story about her ex-boyfriend and how she ended up being with the guy in the first place.
In the past 2 years, Joyce had lost 2 of the people that were most important to her: her best friend and her mother. Her best friend had died of cancer almost 2 years ago and her mother had died in a car accident only a few months after that.
By now, Alyson was sitting next to Joyce with her arm around her shoulder. 'I'm only just starting to get back to feeling just a little normal, you know? I feel like I've been running on auto-pilot these past 2 years. But ever since Miley, Demi and Selena convinced me to start writing again, I feel like the fog is finally clearing up. If they hand't managed to get throughto me, I wouldn't be here right now.'
Alyson opened her mouth to say something, but was interrupted by a knock on the door. 'Guys, you ready? We're already late.' It was Meaghan, Anna Maria and Jasmine, waiting for Joyce and Alyson to join them.
'We'll be right there', Alyson said. She turned to face Joyce. 'Are you up for this? Because I can always use an excuse or...' Joyce cut her off in the middle of her sentence. 'I'm fine. It actually feels good to talk about it. I've just been holding it in for so long.'
The girls quickly changed into a more fancy, yet still casual outfit and helped each other do a quick touch-up on their hair and make-up.
All 5 of them, now also joined by Aaryn, went down to the dining room, where the rest of the cast and crew was already seated at a large table.
Once again, Matthew introduced Joyce, only this time to the whole table and then the rest of the cast started going up to her one by one to introduce themselves as well.
That way, she met Jordan, Roshon, and the others.
Last in line were the Jonas Brothers. Joyce knew they were attractive boys, but she didn't know they would be THIS attractive.
She shook hands with Kevin and Nick and then finally with Joe. When their eyes met, Joyce had to work hard to keep herself together. Not an easy job to do when your knees feel like jelly.
But she wasn't the only one who was taken by surprise by what she was feeling. Joe could have sworn he saw sparks flying off of their hands as they touched.
Joe lost himself in his thoughts.
'Wow, she has beautiful eyes. And that smile. I love how her hand feels in mine. She's just so gorgeous. Oh no, Joe. You are NOT falling for this girl. But he knew it was hopeless. He was certain this girl was what he'd been missing all his life.'
All of the sudden, he was brought back to reality by Her voice. 'Uhm, do you think maybe I can get my hand back now?', Joyce said, her eyes still locked on his.
'Oh, sorry. I-I-I, uhm...' He sounded like a babbling idiot.
He let go of Joyce's hand and pulled out a chair for her.
'Thank you.', Joyce said, sure she was looking as red as the purse she had brought.
Joe took the chair next to her, pushing Nick -who was about to sit on the chair- out of the way so he could sit next to Joyce. Nick looked at Joe with a 'What-the-hell-are-you-doing-look', but backed off when he saw his brother's pleading eyes.
During the dinner, Joyce and Joe were making small talk the whole time. Joe was talking about his music, his brothers and the rest of his family. When he asked Joyce about her family, he could see her tense up completely.
'Are you okay?', he asked, genuinely concerned about Joyce's sudden change in behaviour.
'Yeah, I'm fine', she lied, giving Joe her best fake smile.
Joe let go of the subject, but he wasn't entirely sure she was telling the truth...

A/N: Okay I'm really getting into this story and I'm already here with the next chapter. Like it, hate it, I don't care. I'm just having so much fun writing this and 'm gonna keep doing so. Oh, one more thing: I'm really letting my imagination take over for this story, and there are gonna be a lot of twists to the story. I've got so many ideas for the next chapters, I can't wait to get to work on them. I can already say that some of my story ideas make absolutely no sense at all, but hey, they call it fiction for a reason, right? Chapter 4: HonestyIt was already week 3 of filming and the whole cast had become really good friends. Joyce and Joe had gotten very close and spent almost every free moment they had together, but over the past few days, Joe had noticed that Joyce was more quiet than usual. He decided to ask her about it after they would wrap up for the day, but Joyce beat him to it. 'Joe, can we go talk somewhere?', Joyce asked when the director yelled 'CUT!' 'Of course, let's go.' Joe offered Joyce his arm and she took it. He led her to the dock where they had filmed the scene where Shane sings 'Gotta Find You' to Mitchie. Joyce let go of Joe's arm and sat down. She took off her shoes and let her legs dangle over the edge, so she could give her feet a little refreshment after a long day of dancing. Joe did the same and sat down next to her. For a while, neither of them said a word, until Joyce broke the silence. 'Okay, I'm just gonna come right out and say it. I like you and I think that you like me too. We've been hanging out a lot the past couple of weeks and I feel like this could go somewhere.' 'I like you too. A lot.' Joe smiled. 'And I've been wanting to ask you out for a while now, but I didn't know if you liked me back, I mean I thought you did but I wasnt sure and I...' Joe felt Joyce's finger over his lips to get him to stop talking and felt a chill go down his spine. 'Joe, you're babbling again.' Joyce said, smiling, but turning serious again right after that. Joyce took a deep breath and started talking again. 'I DO like you. And that's why I want you to know the truth. And if you still want me after that, than we'll just see where this goes.' Joe was confused. What truth did he need to know? And why wouldn't he want her anymore after hearing it? He turned his attention back to Joyce. 'Okay, first of all, please don't interrupt me. This is very hard for me to talk about and I haven't told a lot of people about my life. But you've become a very important person to me and I think you deserve to know everything about me.' Joe was staring at Joyce very intently as she traveled back in time, to 2 years ago. 'You know that Miley and I are best friends now, right? Well, we were always good friends but she became my BEST friend after I lost my other best friend. Her name was Abby. We lived next door to each other until My mom, my sisters and I moved to LA. We lived in a house down the street from where Miley and her family lived. We didn't know until my mom ran into Tish at the supermarket and I found out that they were best friends since college. Miley and I started getting closer and becoming good friends, but I also stayed in touch with Abby.
One day, I got a call from Abby. Or at least I thought it was Abby. It was her dad using her cell phone. He called me to tell me that Abby was in the hospital. She had collapsed during basketball practice. That day, she was diagnosed with leukemia. The doctors hadn't noticed it before because Abby was never sick. And then she got THAT news.
She was terminal. Had 6 months to live. She didn't want to stay in the hospital for the remainder of her time so her parents took her home.
My mom and I went back home so I could spend time with Abby, sort of as a really long goodbye.
The first months everything was going great; it was like there was never anything wrong with her. Her doctors and her parents even gave her permission to play basketball again. Our team had a big game that week and it felt great to all play together again. That's what Abby wanted, you know. To play one last game, with the team being complete.
The night of the game was fantastic. The entire town was there to cheer us on. We were winning. We felt like luck was on our side.
Then I looked over at Abby, who was running behind me. She stood still and she looked at me, her face as white as a sheet. I ran to her and she collapsed into my arms.
I went with her to the hospital and sat by her bedside the entire time. She opened her eyes for a few minutes, just long enough to say her final goodbyes. And then she was gone. As if she had waited just long enough to know that everyone she loved was with her and she knew she could finally let go.
That night was the last time I set foot on a basketball court. I don't think I could handle it.
Anyway, that was the start of my downward spiral.' Joyce could feel the tears streaming down her face like a waterfall and she sat there crying, looking out over the water. Joe moved closer to her and put his arm around her. Somehow, this gave Joyce the strenght she needed to go on. 'A few months after the funeral, my mom and I were back in LA. We were driving home from a day at the mall when all of the sudden I see this car racing toward us. It was a drunk driver who ran a red light. My mom didn't even have time to respond, it all happened so fast.
The next thing I remember is Miley and her mom, sitting by my hospital bed, holding my hand and crying.
I felt a stabbing pain in my chest and somehow I knew my mom hadn't made it.
She had been awake for a brief period of time while I was unconscious. She knew that if would close her eyes then, she wouldn't open them again after that.
She asked Tish to look after her girls, me and my sisters. And eventhough Tish did a great job, I kept sinking deeper and deeper into a depression.
That's when I gave up music. My mom had been the reason why I had continued to write songs and to sing. She always believed in me and with her gone, I didn't see the point in continuing it.
Then there was a time where I finally thought I was going to be okay. I met this awesome guy who loved me just the way I was.
Or at least that was what I thought. Turns out he only wanted 1 thing, and when I wouldn't give it to him, he decided he'd just take it anyway.'Joyce shivered as she remembered the night her boyfriend, well, ex-boyfriend, raped her. Joe didn't need to hear any more. This didn't change the way he felt about her. It made his feelings even stronger. He was determined to love Joyce so much that she would forget about that horrible guy. He wanted to make her happy, because if she was happy, he would be too. Joe snapped back to reality when he heard a loud sobbing noise. Immediately, he pulled Joyce closer to his body and he held her tightly. Joyce felt a calm come over her as soon as Joe's arms were around her. She put her head against his chest, breathing in his scent. She closed her eyes and listened to the soothing sound of Joe's heartbeat. Every now and then, she felt Joe kissing her hair ever so gently. They sat there like that for a few minutes, when Joe broke the silence when he started singing. Everytime I think I'm closer to the heart Of what it means to know just who I am I think I've finally found a better place to start But no one ever seems to understand I need to try to get to where you are Could it be, you're not that far
You're the voice I hear inside my head, the reason that I'm singing I need to find you I gotta find you You're the missing piece I need, the song inside of me I need to find you I gotta find youWhen he finished, he said: 'Nothing could change the way I feel about you. I love you and I just wanna make you happy, no matter what happened in your past.' Joyce quickly, yet reluctantly pulled herself away from Joe, so she could look at him. 'What did you just say?' She asked, still unsure if she had even heard him right. 'I said I love you.', Joe answered. 'I know I'm probably moving way too fast but I just need you to know how I feel.' 'I love you too.', Joyce said with tears in her eyes. Only this time, they weren't sad tears, they were happy tears. And for the first time in a very long time, she felt like she actually WAS happy... A/N: Wow, I actually cried while writing this... I'm such a cry-baby Anyways, the next chapter will hopefully be up soon too and I can't say much, but I can say it will have a lot of romance in it. And, who knows, maybe even a first kiss...

I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack lol Okay so here's chapter 5 of my story. I hope you enjoy it! The kiss (part 1)Since her talk with Joe, Joyce felt like she was walking on air. Days seemed to fly by whenever she was with him (and that was a lot since they were starring in a movie together). It was the 6th week of filming and Joyce and Joe were walking toward the cafeteria to go get something to eat after shooting. 'Talk to me.', Joe said, bringing Joyce back from her train of thought. 'Huh? What?', Joyce said, a little dazed. 'You're so quiet. Is something wrong?' Joe stopped and took Joyce's other hand, shifting so that he was now staring at her intently. 'You know you can tell me.' Joyce sighed. 'It's kinda stupid, it's nothing to worry about.' 'Tell me.' Joe let go of one of Joyce's hands and used it to lift her face up so that she was looking into his big brown eyes. 'It's just... I haven't seen Miley in ages and I'm not used to not seeing her every day. I mean, she doesn't even know about us yet.' 'Wait. We've been together for almost a month and you haven't told your best friend you're dating the AWESOME Joe Jonas?' Joe made a funny face when he said and Joyce couldn't help but laugh. The sound of her laughter made Joe's heart skip a beat and he pulled her in closer, winding his arms her waist. Joyce put her arms around Joe, too and pressed her face in to his chest, taking in his scent as she took in a big breath of air. While they were standing there, cuddling, a plan started to form in Joe's mind. 'What if I get Miley to fly out here? That would make Joyce happy and I'm sure Nick would be pretty excited too.' He chuckled to himself as he thought this. All of the sudden, the sound of Nick's voice called out from the distance. 'Joe, dude, where are you? We gotta get to that Live Chat thing in 20 minutes! Let go of Joyce for a few minutes and get your ass over here!' 'SHUT UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUPPP! I'M COMING! CHILLAX!!' Joyce covered her ears against Joe's screaming, because Joe still had his arms wound around her waist so tightly that it seemed like she was trapped there. 'Uhm, Joseph', Joyce said, 'Can't... breathe' Joe realised he was practically squeezing Joyce to death and quickly let go of her. 'I'm so sorry, I, ... Nick and...' Joyce giggled. 'You're so cute when you're nervous.' 'But...', was all Joe could say before he was cut off by Joyce's finger on his lips. 'It's cool, Joe. Don't worry. We better get going now, before Mr. President gets angry.' Joe smiled and cupped Joyce's face with one hand. Joyce put her hand on top of his and smiled back at him, moving in closer so that their faces were only inches away from each other. Just as their lips were about to touch, Nick called again. 'Uh oh, we better get back', Joyce said as she reluctantly pulled away from Joe. When she looked at Joe's face, she immediately burst out laughing: Joe was making the puppy dog face and it looked so funny that Joyce couldn't help but laugh. 'Aww, don't give me that look. We'll get to the 'first kiss'-part.' Her face turned serious. 'Patience, Young one.' (don't they say that in Star Wars or something, because that was the point ) Joyce started to walk in the direction of the cafeteria, laughing again at her own joke. Joe stood still for a few seconds, not quite sure what that was all about. 'Hey, wait up!' He ran up to Joyce, putting an arm around her shoulder as they walked back toward the others. A/N: Okay so I'm gonna have to make this in to 2 parts, because it's getting kinda late here and I have a long day tomorrow (basketball, WOOHOO!!). And the next couple of weeks are going to be super busy at school so it might take a while before I post the next part. But I will be back, though. Whether you like it or not...

Okay so I'm back with part 2 of chapter 5 Again sorry about having to split it up into 2 parts, but I was really tired from studying all week and I had to be rested for my basketball 'comeback' The kiss (part 2)When they got back to the cafeteria, Nick and Kevin were already outside, waiting for Joe. Nick had an angry expression on his face. 'DUN-DUN-DUUUUUUUUUUUUN...', Joyce said under her breath, making Joe laugh. 'What are you laughing at?', Nick said angrily. Joe stopped laughing immediately. Joyce walked over to Kevin and hugged him and then did the same with Nick. 'I'm sorry, Nick, It was my fault. I was a little down and Joe noticed and he was kinda worried so I told him about what was wrong. So if you wanna be angry at someone, be angry at me, not at your brother. He was just being his wonderful, caring self.' Joyce smiled at Joe, who was now standing behind Kevin, afraid of what Nick would do. 'I'm not mad at you, J. You're like, my best friend, how could I be mad at you?' Nick said and then turned to Joe. 'And I'm not mad at you either, Joe. It's just, you know how I hate being late for meetings and stuff.' Joe stepped forward, coming out of his 'hiding place'. He and Nick did a fist bump. 'I'm sorry, bro. Really.' Nick nodded. 'So, uhm, shouldn't you guys get going now?', Joyce intervened. 'Right, we should go. See you later, J.' Nick said and they did their special handshake. The boys started walking toward the waiting car and Joyce started walking toward the cafeteria. Joe ran up to her and grabbed her arm, turning her towards him. Joyce looked up, surprised. 'What the...?', was all Joyce could say. She was stopped by Joe's lips on hers. At first, she was shocked, but soon enough, she started kissing back, throwing her arms around his neck. Joe pulled her closer against his body, one hand on Joyce's back, the other running through her hair. As he continued kissing Joyce, he was suddenly lost in thought: 'Wow, this is amazing. She's a good kisser. This isn't exactly how I imagined our first kiss to be, what with my brothers watching and all, but on the other hand... It IS exactly how I imagined it. I wish we could stay like this forever.'Forever didn't seem to last very long, because shortly after Joe thought it, Joyce pulled away from him. All of the sudden, Joe was scared that he had misinterpreted Joyce's reaction. He was afraid that he'd done something wrong. That fear dissapeared instantly when his eyes met hers. Joe gazes into Joyce's big brown eyes and then felt her hand on his cheek. 'I love you.', she whispered. Her eyes started to wander and she broke out in laughter. Joe followed her gaze and saw that she was laughing at his brothers, who were making funny faces as if they were completely appalled by the scene that they were witnessing in front of them. Joe glared at his brothers and then turned back to Joyce. 'I'm sorry, I have to go kill my brothers now.' Joyce laughed and said: 'Go easy on them, will ya? They're not the only ones that weren't expecting that little stunt of yours.' She poked him in the stomach. 'Now go.', Joyce ordered. Joe obeyed and walked over to the car to join his brothers. Joe got in the car and waved at Joyce, who waved back and then walked into the cafeteria with a huge smile on her face. Up next: Joe has a plan...

Chapter 6! Enjoy! The planOn their way to their video chat, Joe decided to tell his brothers what Joyce had told him. 'Guys? Remember how Joyce told you that she was feeling a little down and that we were so late because she was talking to me about it?' Nick and Kevin nodded. 'Yeah, what about it?', Nick asked. 'Well, she kinda misses Miley. Before we started filming, they were together all the time and now she hasn't seen her in over a month... She hasn't even talked to her for like a week.' Nick and Kevin were trying to figure out where their brother was going with his story. 'Yeah, and you're telling us this why?', Kevin asked sarcastically. Joe glared at his brother and then turned to Nick and said: 'I want to call Miley and ask her to fly out here. I think it'd do Joyce good to see her again and catch up.' 'Actually, that's not such a bad idea, Joe. I'd have never expected that from you.', Nick teased. 'Thanks, I ... HEEEEEEEEEYYYYYYY!! You just insulted me!' 'HAHA, yeah I did! And you fall for it every time!', Nick laughed. Kevin joined in his laughter, but Joe just sat there, pouting. Finally Nick managed to control himself and turned back to Joe. 'Sorry, dude, it's just so much fun and... you gotta admit, you are a pretty easy target.' Joe was glaring at Nick, who ignored him and just continued talking. 'It really is a good idea, Joe. Just tell us what you need from us and we'll help you.' After hearing that, Joe's face lightened up entirely. 'Thanks, Nick. That's nice. You 2 Kev.' 'No problem, bro.', Kevin said. The boys arrived at the studio where they would be doing their video chat and got settled in front of the computer. All of them, except Nick. He had agreed to call Miley and ask her to visit Joyce and Joe had insisted he'd do that before they started the chat. So, to get his brother off his back, he stood out out in the hallway to call Miley. When the phone started ringing, his heart started to race. 'Why is my heart beating so fast? Come on, Nick, focus. You know Miley. There's no reason to be nervous. She's just a friend. You don't like her that way... Of course she's a great girl, beautiful, talented, smart, funny and she has the cutest laugh... D'oh, who are you kidding, you're crazy about her!'Nick was still in the middle of yelling at himself in his head when he heard a voice on the other end of the line. 'Hello?', Miley asked. 'Uh, hey. It's me, Nick.' Miley jumped up when she heard his voice, beautiful and soft, even softer than she remembered. 'Hey, Nickyyyyyyyyyyyy!' Miley was the only person Nick had ever allowed to call him that. She was the closest friend he had. 'Hey, Mile.', Nick answered. He continued. 'So, uh, why I'm calling... The thing is: Joyce really misses you and Joe and I were thinking maybe, you wanted to come over and see her? As a surprise.' 'Oh my God, are you kidding? I would love to fly out there! I'll see when the next flight to Canada is and I'll get back to you, okay?' 'So you're coming?', Nick asked, hoping Miley hadn't heard his voice crack. 'Yeah, totally! I've been dying to see J again. It's so boring around here without her.' Nick laughed. 'Yeah, she can brighten up the place, can't she?' They talked for a few more minutes and then Nick was called in for the chat. Joe looked at Nick with hope shining brightly in his eyes. Nick didn't speak, he just nodded and smiled at Joe. 'YES! Part 1 of my plan worked!' 'What's part 2, then?' Nick asked curiously. He didn't know there would be more to the plan than what they had already arranged. 'Oh, uh, nothing...', Joe corrected himself. 'Dang it! I almost ruined it! I can't tell Nick what I have planned next. Once Miley gets here, I can tell Joyce and then she can help me with my plan... MWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!' Up next: Joyce and Miley are reunited...

Here's chapter 7, people! Since I'm not getting any comments on the story, I'm just gonna keep posting chapters... 'Cuz if you guys don't tell me whether you like it or not, I'm just gonna assume that you do, so unless anyone says otherwise the story will continue... I'm weird, I know. Most people will threaten to stop posting if people don't comment, I do the opposite... Reunion'Man, I am so glad that's over!', Joe yawned as he stretched after sitting still for so long during the video chat. Nick and Kevin were already standing, getting ready to head back to the hotel. 'I thought you liked doing this kinda thing? The interacting with the fans and stuff...', Kevin asked, facing Joe. 'I do, but I...' He hesitated, trying to come up with a good enough excuse. 'Aww, he misses his girlfrieeeeeeeeeeend.' Nick said, making a heart with his hands. 'Not funny, dude', Joe said as he put on his jacket. 'Actually, it kinda was', Kevin laughed, high-fiving Nick. Joe glared at his brothers as he walked through the door, mumbling to himself. 'Stupid Kevin and Nick. They're just jealous 'cuz I can get a girlfriend and they can't. Pff... Mocking ME? I should be the one mocking them, for crying out loud! Grmblgrmbl...' A/N: (Grmblgrmbl: that's supposed to be mumbling ) On the car ride back to the hotel, Joe was texting Joyce the entire time. A/N: Blue is for Joe's texts to Joyce, Pink is the other way around Hello Beautiful Just finished the chat. On our way back to the hotel. Can't wait 2 C U I love you, Danger Lol you're so weird Hope ur brothers didn't give u a hard time If they did, I'll kick their butts 4 U if you want. I'm pretty strong, ya know I love U 2, Danger They have been bugging me a bit, but not enough for u 2 beat em up, although that would b fun 2 watch Pulling up to the hotel now, C U in a few xoxoJust as Joyce read the message, there was a knock at her door. She opened it and saw Joe standing in front of her, completely breathless: he had jumped out of the car, ran through the doors and across the lobby and then up 3 flights of stairs to Joyce's room. Joyce tried to hold back a giggle, but failed miserably and burst out laughing. Joe just stood there, confused and still panting in an attempt to regain control of his breathing. Once he got his breathing under control and took a decent look at the girl standing in front of him, his heart skipped a few beats. She was wearing hot pink shorts and a white tank top; her hair was still wet from showering and it was sticking to her face. Joe took a step forward and tucked her hair behind her ear with his hand. Joyce pulled him in the room and closed the door behind them. Joe had to work to keep his balance so he wouldn't take the both of them down. He failed and fell onto the bed, pulling Joyce down with him. She landed half on top of him, their legs entangled. 'Sorry.' Joe whispered. 'I'm such a clutz.' Joyce lifted her body, resting her weight on her elbow. 'Yeah you are.', she whispered back. Joe looked at her with a horrified face. Joyce laughed. 'But you're MY clutz.', she smiled, kissing the tip of Joe's nose. He smiled back and they stared at each other in silence for a few seconds. Joyce started leaning in closer, putting one hand on Joe's muscular chest. Joe could feel his breathing getting heavier again, and he swallowed hard. Joyce giggled at his reaction and then softly pressed her lips against his. Soon, the kiss grew deeper and more intense. Joe put his arms around Joyce and flipped them over so that he was on top of her now. He never let his lips leave hers, except to come up for air. Just when he wanted to move his hand to run it down her leg, he felt something vibrate in his pocket. 'Ugh', he sighed as he reluctantly pulled away from Joyce, sitting up on the bed as he reached for his phone. 'WHAT!', he screamed when he answered. Joyce sat up too, moving to sit next to Joe. 'REALLY? That's awesome!', he said, suddenly excited. Joyce watched him in silence as he talked on the phone for a few more minutes. After he'd hung up, he said: 'Get dressed. I have a surprise for you.' Joyce stared at him, not understanding what was going on. 'It's okay, baby. You're gonna love it.', said Joe. 'Just grab a pair of sweats or something. We don't have much time.' Still very confused, Joyce got up off the bed and did as she was told. She opened her closet and pulled out a pair of black sweatpants and a matching jacket. She put it on over the clothes she was already wearing and quickly pulled her hair together in a bun. She found a pair of white Converse and put them on too. Soon she was ready to leave and Joe took her hand, leading her out the door and to the elevators. When they were in the car, Joyce started asking a lot of questions. 'Where are we going, Joe? What was that phone call all about?' Joe put his finger over her mouth and lifted her chin up with the same hand. He smiled at her and stroked her cheek. 'You ask way too many questions, sweety.' He leaned in to kiss her quickly on the lips. 'Here we are', said Kevin, who had the 'honor' of being the chauffeur for the evening. Joyce got out of the car and looked around her. They were at the airport's main entrance and Joe guided her toward the huge sliding doors. Joyce didn't say a word as they walked past one gate after another, still trying to piece everything together. They stopped at Gate 26, where apparently, the flight from Los Angeles had just landed. When Joyce saw where the flight had come from, her head snapped up at Joe, with a 'No, you didn't'-look on her face. Joe answered that look with a smile and a slight nod toward the gate, where people were now exiting the plane. Joyce focused her attention on the people coming through the doors, waiting for a familiar face to appear. When she saw Miley walking through the doors, she let out a hapy screech and threw her arms around Joe's neck. 'Thank you thank you thank you!!!!!! You are the best boyfriend EVER!!!' She screamed in his ear. 'Shit, I'm deaf!!'Joe said after Joyce had let go of him and started running toward Miley. The two girls met halfway, running into each others arms, both crying 'happy tears'. Joyce and Miley, walked back toward Joe, their arms linked and chatting cheerfully. Joe had just heard Miley say: 'OMG, You have a BOYfriend?! I wanna meet him!!!' Joyce answered: 'You already know him', exchanging Miley's arm for Joe's. Miley stood there, in shock. Next: The ride back to the hotel + Nick and Miley grow closer... A/N: So I've got a problem. I can't decide whether I want the Jonas Brothers to wear purity rings or not... Tell me what you think!!!!!!!! I need your advice!!!
