This came to me as I was listening to Rascall Flatts. I think it turned out pretty good, but I will let you guys be the judges of that...
The rain never stops me from walking. I need to get out sometimes. I allowed my thoughts to consume me, and I quickly forgot the conversation my mom and dad were having. I'm not the least bit worried about paint. Who cares about the color of the bathroom. Someone walking towards me snapped me back into reality. I identified the person as my best friend. His face was covered in confusion and determination.
"Hey Nick! What's up?" I forced my smile not to show my crush on him. Today was my first successful attempt.
"...Lacey. We need to talk." NOT GOOD!!! I remembered the last time those words escaped his lips. We had been sitting in my room watching Hannah Montana. Nick cleared his throat and looked at me as seriously as he could. "Lacey, I have something to say, and I need your full attention." I shut the television off and angled towards him. "My brothers and I are going on tour." My jaw hit the floor. "OHMIGOODNESS! Thats so awesome! When do you leave??" He looked at the floor and took an uneven breath. "T-Tomorrow."
All of a sudden, the world stopped. My best friend was leaving for 3 months and decided to tell me the day before he left?.... Umm, thanks?
I was brought back into reality when Nick cleared his throat. Deja Vu.
"Lacey, since my brothers and I came back from our tour, something has changed. I've spent a lot of time thinking about this moment. I'm not exactly sure how to go about this, so I'm just going to ask." He took a pause and I almost died from the anticipation. "Lacey, will you be... my girlfriend?"
I was frozen. Did Nick just ask me out? Nick Jonas, my best friend? This is so surreal. Just yesterday I had a dream about how this would go. My answer had been a certain yes. Now, it was as if my mouth and my brain were from 2 different planets.
"Do you realize how long I've waited to answer that question?" I smiled sweetly and my lips softly brushed his. A single tear slid down my cheek and somehow Nick knew it wasn't rain. He pulled away and asked, "What's wrong?" His face grew worried, which made me smile. "Nothing. This is even more perfect than I have ever imagined." His lips crashed into mine and he wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling me close.
