Hey guys! This is the first fan fiction I am writing by myself. (Ok, my roommate Shawna is helping with ideas...) This introduction is based on a dream I had a few nights ago. After telling Shawna about it, she told me, and I quote, "This has to be a story!" So I am trying to make it into a story. The only problem is that I haven't had the dream since, so this scene is the only thing I have. Shawna and I have some ideas for later scenes, but I don't know how to get there. So I hope you enjoy this little 'morsel' of a story. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let me know what you think, and if you have ANY ideas I would love to hear them. <3 Heather. Bumping Into Fate‘It is one of those days!’ she thought vehemently to herself, staring at the disorderly piles of papers and empty food containers that was her desk. She had a list of do-to’s as long as her arm, and very little time to do it in. Although it was only 10 in the morning she had already been at the studio since 5:30, and was feeling that she hadn’t accomplished anything. This was a lie of course. She had already attended two staff meetings, and ran several errands for the director, but she was behind schedule. The caterer would be arriving within an hour with lunch, and no one had yet informed security. A pile of dry cleaning slips were attached to her clipboard, all of them were going to be ready for pick-up at the wardrobe department around noon. A pile of scripts were on her desk, full of directors notes. Those would need to be taken over to the writers if they wanted to start shooting tomorrow. Today was supposed to be a casual ‘relaxing’ day. She snorted in laughter to herself. If today was supposed to be so casual why did she feel so stressed? Why had she been unable to get regular sleep in the past week leading up to this day? Oh right, because so many tasks relied on her. This wasn’t exactly her dream job. But she knew that if she did this well for awhile she could work herself up to where she really wanted to be. She imagined herself in that director’s chair, and someone else doing all the tasks that were now on her shoulders. She closed her eyes and rubbed her temples. She was already getting a headache, thinking of the long day that was still ahead. ‘The actors have begun to arrive, and the table read has to start by 12:30. So I have about 2 hours to drop off the scripts, deal with the catering situation, and pick up all the costumes from wardrobe. God, please let me run into some luck today.’ Running through her schedule made her relax slightly. She removed her glasses from her nose and rubbed her eyes. She sighed then opened her eyes and got up, placing the glasses back on the bridge of her nose. She glanced over at the clock. She had been sitting at her desk doing nothing for close to 15 minutes. This brought her back to reality and she could feel the calmness she had just achieved fading away into stress again. She placed her Starbucks in the microwave for the 10th time this morning. She had barely taken three sips out of it. The microwave was sure to have taken its toll on the taste, but at this point it was the caffeine that truly mattered to her. She gathered her things. She placed her blue tooth headset in her right ear, and then attached her cell phone and the studio walkie talkie on her belt. In her left arm she carried the pile of scripts she needed to return to the writers and her clipboard of tasks. The microwave beeped signaling that her coffee was now hot. The minute she stepped out of her office her cell went off. She pushed the button on the blue tooth. “Go for Lila!” She said. [her name is pronounced Lee-luh] “It’s Meg.” Meg was the director and therefore her boss. “Sorry to put this on you Lee, but I need you to go down to the security hut right now.” She internally groaned. ‘There goes my schedule…’“Is there a problem Meg?” she responded out loud. “Yeah, the caterers are here now, and they won’t let them on the lot until someone signs it off.” “Couldn’t just call Carl and let him know that it’s fine.” “Nope, it’s a new company. They have to be officially signed in and issued a lot pass.” “Gotcha, I’m on it.” She hung up. Luckily she knew the hallway well, as she continued walking with her eyes closed, trying to block out her headache, and all the sounds of other frantic crew members trying to get ready for the approaching table read. ‘The security hut is the furthest thing away. I suppose I can do all the tasks in the opposite order. Everyone is so panicked for this table read. Okay, so I’ll go deal with the caterers and then hit up the writers, hopefully they will be in their offices, I hate when I have to track them down. Then to the wardrobe department. I really hope they have everything ready…”Thoughts continued to swirl around in her head. IF she wasn’t so deep in thought she might have heard the voices in the hallway. IF she hadn’t been so overwhelmed, so might have opened her eyes a few seconds earlier. And she might have avoided disaster. But she opened her eyes a few seconds too late. All she saw was the back of a tall brown haired guy as he walked backwards, yelling “See you at table read” to a person she couldn’t see. She didn’t have time to avoid it; he went to turn around and ran smack into her. Coffee covered the front of his shirt, and all the papers in her hands went falling to the floor. “I am soooo sorry.” She began. She looked around frantically looking for something to sop up the coffee dripping from his clothes. She wasn’t even focused on who it was that she had run into, she was just focused on making sure they knew she was sorry. “I should have been watching where I was going. I was in my own little world.” She was babbling. ‘Why am I such a spaz!’ she thought to herself. “Hey don’t worry about,” he said in a calming voice. “It’s just a shirt. I’ll be fine. Let me help you.” He bent down to pick up the scripts she dropped. “Hey look, the scripts survived.” He chuckled softly. She finally looked up to meet his eyes. Her cheeks immediately flushed a deep scarlet and her hear t rate accelerated tenfold. She had run into Joe Jonas. ************************************************ If you want more. Please review, and tell me if I should even bother continuing. I know you JB fans are amazing. So please don't leave me hanging. ;D

Here is Chapter 2! Read and Review. More coming soon. ;D
Just a little background. The story is set in the year 2014. Lila [Lee-luh] is 24 years old. She just graduated from the New York Film Academy, receiving her Masters of Fine Arts degree in Film making. She really wants to be a director, but is working at a studio as an assistant trying to work her way up the ladder. She is currently working on a new Disney Channel show. (I don't have a name for it yet...)
She seemed to have stopped breathing, if that was even possible. She couldn’t believe what had just happened. She had spilled coffee on someone, and not just any person, but JOE JONAS!! How could she be such a klutz?! When she had imagined what it would be like meeting him, she had pictured it MUCH differently. A situation that allowed her to be dressed in her finest, looking like a supermodel, not like someone who had just rolled out of bed. She thought of how she probably looked to him. Her hair was carelessly thrown up in a ponytail, she hadn’t had time for a shower that morning, and she wasn’t wearing even a speck of makeup. She was wearing a plain pair of jeans, a t-shirt, and a black zip-up hoodie, and on her feet was a well worn in pair of plaid Converse she had had for at least 4 years, and it showed. He probably thought she was a mess.
She noticed that he was trying to hand her back the piles of scripts she had dropped. She should probably have said thank you, but no words were coming to her mouth. She just stared at him, slightly dumbfounded on how to assess the situation. Their eyes were still locked, his smooth chocolate brown eyes were searching hers, looking for some comprehension on the situation. His mouth which held a smile a moment ago was turned down slightly with worry at the lack of her coherency. His hair wasn’t straightened, but instead full of waves that framed his face more naturally than straight hair ever could.
“Uh…” A single syllable escaped her lips.
He searched her face. Her eyes were hazed over. He couldn’t really distinguish the color, they appeared green at first, but the longer he stared the more he could detect other colors. Directly around the pupil was a ring of light greenish brown, followed by a ring of bluish green. The odd range of color made him want to stare. But he didn’t want to freak her out. He handed her back the pile of scripts he had picked up off the floor, although she hardly seemed to take notice. They were both still crouched down, but without looking away from each other both rose up to full height.
She was shorter than him, probably about 5’3,” but not too short that it strained her to look up at him. He took a slight step back and he quickly took in her appearance. She seemed a little disheveled, but that seemed appropriate based on what he had observed so far. She seemed to have many tasks to do around the studio. He could imagine that she was one of the people who practically lived out of their office. She was dressed simply in jeans and sweatshirt, and a simple pair of sneakers, which by the look of them were very well worn in. ‘She likes to be comfortable,’ he thought. He couldn’t quite tell how old she was. ‘Probably younger than me, about 21 or 22. Fresh out of college perhaps?’
She wore black-rimmed glasses, which, he now noticed, were tinted green on the inside. She was thin, but healthy looking. He liked that. He had seen way to many girls in Hollywood who were so skinny, they looked unhealthy. Her hair was a light to medium shade of brown, pulled up in a messy ponytail as if she had gotten ready in a hurry. He also noticed that she wasn’t wearing any makeup, but he could tell that she was one of those girls who didn’t need any. She seemed to have a natural glow about her, even though she was clearly uncomfortable, and embarrassed in the present situation.
He imagined how his reaction to her might have been different if they were meeting under other situations. ‘Would I have even noticed her?’ He caught himself wondering. The silence was still unbroken between them, but at that moment her cell went off. For a second she seemed confused about where the sound was coming from, but then she broke out of her reverie. She looked at him worriedly than hit the button on her blue tooth taking a step backward in the process.
“Go.” she answered.
She waited for the person on the other end.
“I’m on my way. I had a slight…distraction.” Her mouth twitched as if she might smile, and her eyes focused intently on Joe as if she expected him to walk away from her.
Again she paused, waiting for the response.
“No, no Meg. I can handle it. I am on my way right this minute. Don’t worry.”
She hung up the phone. She was still looking at Joe, wondering why he didn’t just simply walk away. She had spilled coffee on him, and was acting very strange, if she was him, she would have walked away a long time ago. What held him here?
“Um…thanks for um…” she looked down at the scripts in her hand. ‘Why am I having such a hard time making words? Make a joke out the situation or something. You’re dying out here Lila!!’
“No problem.” He replied confidently. “It’s no big deal.”
“I really am sorry about….you know…” she looked at the coffee stain on his shirt. “I wasn’t looking where I was going.” The second part was said under her breath and she was looking down at her feet. Joe barely caught it.
“Hey. It will wash. I’m sure I can get a clean one from wardrobe. They might even wash this one if I ask them to.” He chuckled.
He thought he saw her mouth twitch again. ‘WOW! What will it take to crack a smile with this girl?’
“Are you going to be okay?” Joe looked into her eyes with concern. She seemed really shaken by the whole situation. Or maybe she was just abnormally shy?
“Um…yeah…I’m fine. Well…I’ve gotta go deal with some…stuff. Um…bye.” She shuffled past him quickly heading for the exit. Her ponytail was swinging widely from side to side. She practically ran down the hall, trying to get as much distance between herself and him, berating herself under her breath all the while. ‘Great Lila, real great. You made a fool out of yourself in front of JOE JONAS! Probably thinks you are the weirdest girl he has ever met in his life.’
She left him with so many questions. She wasn’t his normal type for sure, but what else was so intriguing about her? ‘The fact that she didn’t immediately swoon the second she met you? Didn’t flirt with you or try to make some sort of move?’ He was angry at himself for thinking it, but it was true. This girl didn’t fall all over herself the moment she realized it was him that she had run into. Most girls would be outdoing themselves trying to impress him, even if they had spilled their coffee on him. She was almost to the exit. He couldn’t stop himself, he yelled after her, “Will I see you later?”
She hesitated at the door. ‘Is he talking to me?’ She answered without turning around. “Maybe.”

Chapter 3 guys!! Read and Review. It makes me happy!!
Lila stood in a corner of the conference room where lunch was being served. Normally she would eat in her office, preferring to catch up with friends on Facebook during her lunch break than mingle with her co-workers. It wasn’t that she was a loner; she just liked having a short period of the day that belonged to her. However, with shooting of the pilot episode starting tomorrow, she felt compelled to get to know everyone. She was pretty close to the people who worked near her, other assistants and the receptionists, but it was everyone else she needed to know. As the director’s assistant, it was almost part of her job description to know everyone.
She looked around the packed conference room. There were plenty of people she didn’t recognize. She had only been working at the studio for a few months, and had only been assigned to this particular show for about a month. This was the first day that the entire cast and crew was formally gathered together. At that moment Meg stood on a chair and demanded everyone’s attention by tapping a knife against her glass.
The room grew silent.
“I am so excited that everyone could make it.” Meg began in a joking tone. “But seriously,” she continued, “I think we have a really good team here. We’ve got a lot of experienced people from around the studio, and also some people we just plucked straight from the streets.” She locked eyes with Lila, and gave a little encouraging smile. “There is a lot of talent in this group, and I know this show is going to be amazing. We just have to work together to make it spectacular. I want everyone to be like a family, as cliché as that sounds. It’s a team effort people, so no petty bickering, alright?”
Everyone laughed. Lila just smiled. ‘This is why I chose Disney.’ She reminded herself. ‘It is one big happy family.’
Meg continued on with her speech. She was introducing the cast members now, all kids in their teens. The show was about a group of friends trying to form a band, practicing out of garages, and the drama of attending high school at the same time. She recognized a few of faces. Younger siblings of some of the older Disney stars. Noah Cyrus immediately stuck out to Lila. ‘She looks like her older sister.’ Lila mused, and then she caught herself thinking, ‘I kinda hope that is their only similarity.’
Meg was finishing up her speech. Lila looked at the clock on the wall. Lunch was almost over; soon she would have to go back to work. She would be sitting in on the table read, and then would spend the rest of the day pretty much glued to Meg’s side as she made sure everything was ready for tomorrow.
Meg’s next sentence brought Lila out of her trance. “Oh, and by the way, a few of the executives will be here on Friday to watch the live taping. Don’t be too nervous, they just have to approve the episode.”
Lila had meet some of the executives before when she was interning two summer’s previous, but the thought still made her slightly nervous. ‘What are you nervous about Lila, it’s not like you’re in charge? But,’ she reminded herself, ‘your job does depend on this going well. No show, no job.’
Meg must have finished her speech, as everyone was getting up to leave and head off to their next task.
“You going to the table read?” The phrase was said close to her ear, she could feel the warm breath of the speaker on her neck. She jumped at the shock of having someone so close to her face. She was glad that she had securely put the lid back on her water bottle just seconds previous or she might have spilled her drink for the second time that day. She spun around and found herself face to face with Joe…again.
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you.” He said with a laugh. “It’s okay.” She replied meekly. Her heart was starting to slow down after her brief adrenaline rush.
“So…are you going to the table read?” he prompted again.
She wasn’t sure why, but she decided that she wouldn’t run away like she had this morning. She had to leave him with a different impression of herself. She would show him what she was really like, not the spaz he had run into earlier. ‘What the heck?’ she thought. ‘He can’t think I am any weirder than I was this morning.’
“Actually, I’m not going.” She responded sarcastically. “I want to see what Meg would do if I decide to not do my job today.”
“She SPEAKS!” Joe responded with a laugh. “And I thought for sure you were a mute.”
“Nope, but who knows, maybe I’m one of those annoying girls who doesn’t know when to shut up.” She laughed at herself, and flashed him a smile. ‘Wow.’ He thought at the sight of her smile. It was one of those genuine smiles, the kind that isn’t forced or faked. It lit up her whole face, and those intriguing eyes that had caught his attention earlier sparkled. ‘I wonder what made the difference between earlier and now. What made her finally talk to me?’
“Seriously,” she continued, causing him to once again focus. “It’s kinda my job to be at the table read. Director’s assistant and all that.”
“So, if you’re the director’s assistant, your official duties would be…fetching coffee?”
“Hey. I have…other duties.”
“So you admit that you get coffee for her. Interesting.” He flashed a debonair smile.
“Whatever!” she said as she playfully hit him on the arm. “What about you, big shot. Why do you need to be here?”
“Adult supervision.”
“Huh?” she said confused. And then she remembered that Frankie was playing the ‘lead guitarist’ on the show. “Oh, you have to be here for Frankie? What about your parents?”
“Business meeting with the executives of ‘JONAS’.”
“Oh right.” Even though she hadn’t been at the studio for long, she remembered hearing rumors about the Jonas Brothers’ show. The writes apparently wanted to go in a direction that the boys wouldn’t allow. “You didn’t want to be there?”
“I trust my parents and my brothers. I’m not really the business minded type. I would just be sitting there anyway. Might as well sit around here watching Frankie instead, and talk to pretty girls of course.”
‘OMG!! Is he flirting with me?' she thought.
The room was now empty except for the two of them, and Lila realized what time it was. “Crap! I have to go.” The table read would be starting any minute. “We. I’m coming too you know.”
“Ok. But you’re job isn’t on the line here. You don’t technically HAVE to be there.”
They started to make their way to the room where the table read would take place. It was smaller than the one they were just in. A huge table was took up most of the room. Meg, the two executive producers, the four lead writers, and the ten main actors already sat around the table. Around the edges in chairs sat the parents or mangers of the teen actors. Some of them sat on laptops, others were reading magazines. One mom was texting on her phone at a speed that Lila envied.
Lila went to take a seat by the writers. Joe bent down and whispered in Meg’s ear. She smiled and nodded at his request. Lila watched this exchange with a crease between her brows. ‘What is he up to?’
But it wasn’t long before her internal question was answered.
“May I sit here?” he asked as he pulled out the chair next to hers. When she didn’t answer right away, he sat down anyway. “Well, your boss said it was alright, so I’m going to do it anyway.” He flashed another smile. Her heart fluttered slightly. ‘What is he doing to me?’ But she didn’t have long to ponder what effect Joe may have on her, when the table read began.
They had been going at it for about 45 minutes, and they had only covered about the first ten minutes of the episode. Lila was slightly bored. She didn’t know why. She had done this sort of thing before. She had been a part of about 50 small films throughout her 6 years of college. 4 years at a university studying media, and then two more at a film school getting her masters in film making. But back then she had been in a different position. She was a more integral part of those films. She had either written them, or she was producing or directing them.
She really wanted to work on something that her friends would want to watch. ‘More along the lines of “Pirates of the Caribbean,” not “Hannah Montana.”’ It wasn’t that she didn’t want to be here. She knew what she was getting herself into when she signed on with Disney. She just wished that she could work with the more serious side of the company. ‘You have to start somewhere,’ she thought to herself bitterly.
She looked down to re-read her notes. But her note pad was gone. She looked around curiously. Joe was hunched over writing on her notepad, using his arm as a shield so she couldn’t read what he wrote.
She sighed, and stared at him until he looked up again. She glared at him when she met his eyes. He gave her an innocent look, as if to say, ‘did I do something wrong?’
She held out her hand. A smile twitched at his mouth as he handed her back the notepad.
She looked down at the notepad, finding a note scrawled across the top of a new page. We were never formally introduced. What do people call you besides stunning? *wink*
She giggled silently. She looked over at him, but he was looking away, trying to act innocent.
Cute. My name is Lila. And passing notes? Really? I didn’t realize we were back in middle school. *smiley face*
She slid the notepad back to him discretely. ‘This might be fun.’ She thought.
He noticed she was trying to slide the notepad back to him, although she wasn’t as sneaky as he had been.
He smiled as he read what she had written.
Lila? (Lie-luh?) That is an interesting name. How did your parents come up with that?
Actually, it is LEE-luh. And it is the word for the color purple or lilac in German.
Ahh. I see. So you are a color?
I guess you could put it that way.
They continued passing notes for the rest of the table read. They were so engrossed in their little charade that they almost didn’t hear Meg dismissing the group.
“Actors need to be here tomorrow for blocking at 10. Everyone else, I expect I will see you for our normal staff meeting at 6.”
Everyone started to get up, and conversations broke out all over the room. Joe was still bent over the notepad, writing one last note.
“Lila, you coming?” called Meg from the door.
“Yeah, right behind you Meg. One sec.”
Frankie had walked over to Joe. “Joe, can we go?”
“Yeah, one minute little bro.”
“Here, you might need this back.” He handed her back her notepad, but he had flipped the pages so that her notes from the meeting were on top.
“It was nice talking with you Joe.”
“Yes. And it was very nice to meet you LEE-luh.” He said this enunciating the syllables of her name. “Maybe I’ll see you around?” He smiled a goofy grin.
“I’ll be here.” She said smiling back at him. “Every day. Unless they fire me of course, then you are just going to have to find some other girl to pass notes with.”
He sighed. “It wouldn’t be the same.” Then he smiled a smile that threatened to stop her heart.
“Stop, you’re gonna make me blush.” She playfully shoved him and smirked.
He started to walk past her towards the door. “That’s the plan.” He whispered into her ear. She smiled, her heart beating so fast it almost hurt her chest, and she watched him leave.
As she walked to catch up with Meg, she flipped through the pages of their scribbled conversation until she found the last page. At the bottom, and in small cramped writing was a ten digit number.
