Honestly, I don't think he would. I mean, he's eighteen years old and that's a BIG age difference. Most guys would only go for girls up to three years younger, so maybe he'd date a fifteen year old. I know that Jesse McCartney, when he was 18, said that the youngest he would date would be fifteen because of maturity levels. I'm going off of that. And 18 year old boys are a lot different from 13 year old girls. He wouldn't date a thirteen year old, I think.

I'm not saying bad about thirteen years olds. I mean, I used to be one. I just know that most 18 year old guys don't date 13 year olds. It's kind of... genetic... that they aren't romantically attracted to tweens when there is a big age gap. It's just about maturity and how things are. Not personal.

I have to agree with Chandy. 18 year olds usually date people under their age, but 13 is kind of too 'under'. I can't see Joe going out with a 13, 14 or 15 year old. MAYBE 16. It's just how guys are. Even if in our eyes Joe is not like other guys, he is still a guy. Even if that 13 year was mature for her age, I doubt her parents' would approve of her going out with a guy that is 5 years older. The average married couple usually has a 1-3 years age difference.
I think Joe would want a girl that actually date, without her asking her parents' for permission. People around his age are already in college,or starting. I don't know how to really explain it. I think the whole maturity thing is what I'm aiming for.

ok, well, i know it's not the end of the world. again, i really dont think age matters. my mom and dad were 10 years apart. ok, thins may sound cruddy and/or stupid, but i know this girl who's 16 and going out with this 3 year old dude. its funny, but these 2 examples are signs that age doesnt matter. also, i have a friend thats my age (13) and going wout wit a 19 year old. also, i once heard joe dated a 13 year old b4. so not the drama. im outa here.

A 16 year old dating a three year old? I HIGHLY doubt that. That's impossible. Three year olds can't date. That's called babysitting. Sorry, Libby, but Joe's not going to date a thirteen year old... Age IS just a number but it has an impact on who you do or don't date. Your parents may be ten years apart but age differences become less important as you get older. And Joe never dated a thirteen year old, except for maybe when HE was thirteen. Sorry.

Age really doesn't matter, as you get older. But as a teenager you want someone close to your age so you can speak to them about certain things. Different ages have different priorities in mind. I think Joe is looking for someone who can travel to where he is without their parents' there.
But that's my opinion. I know a girl who is 16 and going out with a 14 year old! Things like happen. But we're talking about JOE.

It depends on what you mean by giving up on him. I think you should still support him and love him. And you can still crush on him, I mean, there's nothing wrong with that! It's just that you should probably take to heart the fact that he's a LOT older than you and it's not going to happen. Nick is closer to your age... maybe focus on him more?
