OK....here's my swing at a one shot. Took me a few days on this so hopefully it's alright! lol I based it off a song by one of my favorite bands, Family Force 5....the song is called "Share It With Me" (obviously...lol). Here's a link to a video of it if you want to know what it sounds like...

I really need to see her tonight
I made the reservation for two
Going over in my head how to make her mine
The scene was perfect. A beautiful beach side restaurant with the perfect table with a view and a handsome man sitting, awaiting his the arrival of his girl. He sat there deep in thought, going over and over in his head how this night was going to go. He couldn't help but smile, the girl he loved for seven years now was going to be his forever tonight.
"Hey." He looked up to see his girl standing in front of him. He smiled, "Hey you." He stood to give her a kiss and then pulled her chair out for her to sit. As soon as they sat he knew something was wrong. She wasn't her usual happy self and she would hardly look at him.
"Is everything ok?" He asked as he reached for her hand. She smiled, "Yeah. So why the special evening tonight?" His full smile returned as he took a deep breath, "Well....I wanted to ask you something." He saw her sharp intake of breath as he stood up....
She's crying 'cause she feels confused
Maybe she needs some space
Just a little time alone
Please tell me face to face
He watched as her tears began to fall and knew that the night he had pictured wasn't going to happen. His heart sank into his stomach as he watched her stand up.
"I....I just can't...I....not right now." She grabbed her bag and walked away, leaving him there speechless. He had no idea why she suddenly decided to leave. He thought that tonight was what she had wanted. He knew it was what he wanted, more than anything in life. He sat there for what felt like hours thinking about them and how things had been lately. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary...in fact things seemed to be the best they had ever been between them. The more he thought about it the more upset he got and found himself wishing that she would have just talked to him about what was going on with her. He sighed, there was no point in sitting around any longer. He finally stood, paid his bill and left the restaurant knowing that he would just have to give her space for the time being.
Now our seven years are gone
How could this be
She was supposed to be the one
How could she
"Are you serious?!"
"I'm sorry...I just....I can't make this work anymore."
"But I love you! And I know you love me! Please, please don't do this. You know we're meant to be together...I...I can't do this without you. I know we've been through a lot...but we can do this! We've gone through too much to not make this work!" He pleaded at her back. She was getting ready to walk out the door and out on him and he didn't care if he sounded pathetic, he just wanted her to stay.
"I do love you...but not enough to make this a forever thing. I am so, so sorry." She let the tears fall freely down her cheeks as his did the same. She touched his cheek gently and then without another word she walked out the door leaving him laying there in a tearful wreck.
You've already broken my heart

It had been a week since she left him. It had been the longest week of his life. He sat in his parent's house alone in the living room gazing out the window. The rain outside wasn't letting up and it had been that way all week. He chuckled sarcastically, 'So I take it you're upset too, God?' He let his thoughts drift back to that night again as he heard foot steps come into the room.
"Kevin?" He turned his head at the sound of his brothers voice. He didn't feel like being there around his family but they had pretty much dragged him out of his apartment to try and get him to keep living his life. He told them he couldn't see how that was possible since he didn't have a heart anymore.
"Come on man...come eat something. You haven't eaten all day."
"I'm not hungry."
"Do you want me to go get Mom? Cause you'd much rather deal with me than her. She won't be so nice about it."
"Joe, please....I just want to be left alone." He said looking up at his brother with the pain very obvious on his face. His brother winced at the look in his eyes, "Kevin I know it hurts....but you will be ok in time. I can promise you that much."
"She has my heart, Joe. Always has and always will. I just wish she would have left me one piece....or at least just shared one little piece." He felt the tears sting his eyes again as his brother just stood and watched him break down, not sure of what to do. This was his older brother, the rock of his brothers. The one who was always smiling, laughing and enjoying life. The man he saw in front of him was just a shell of what was left over of his brother. He didn't recognize him and it killed him more than he realized.
I never thought that it'd come to this
Never in a million years
The memory of our first kiss
Is taking me to the verge of tears
It was night time, the time he hated the most. It meant another night of restless sleep filled with memories and dreams about her. Tonight he sat in the guest room of his parent's house with Joe sleeping in the other bed on the opposite side of the room. He didn't feel it but he knew that deep down somewhere he was appreciative of what they all were doing for him. They knew he really shouldn't be left alone even though he fought them on it. He finally rested his head against the pillow as he tried to let sleep come. A few moments later he was out but then shortly after his mind started to pull up some painful memories.
"I had a great time tonight." She said as they stood in front of her door. He was home on a break from the tour him and his brothers were on and he finally got the nerve to ask her out on a date.
"I'm glad you did cause I did too." He smiled at her and he could tell she was just as nervous as he was.
"So um...I guess I'll see you tomorrow?" She asked, hope in her voice.
"Of course. We do have to leave tomorrow night but I will defieantly see you before we leave."
"Good." She smiled and he felt his heart beat pick up. He always loved her smile but now...now it just got to him. He felt himself take a few steps closer to her as she nervously played with her hands. He placed one hand on hers and the other on her cheek as he gently ran his thumb across her cheek bone. She sighed and he slowly leaned into her and pressed his lips against hers. After a few seconds he backed off but kept his face close to hers. Neither one of them tried to hide the huge smiles that were on their faces.
"Why didn't we do that sooner?" She asked as he chuckled.
"Good question." He answered as he crashed his lips into hers once more.
"Kevin?! Wake up man!" He stirred and finally sat up. He felt his damp pillow and knew that he was crying in his sleep which is why his brother now stood at his bedside.
"Sorry." He grumbled.
"Bad dream?"
"No...just memories of her."
How can I move on
You were everything to me
So where did we go wrong
This is a tragedy
Two months. Two long, agonizing months since she left. He found himself going through the motions of things he needed to get done but he still had the agonizing numb feeling in his heart. Everyone around him tried their best to get him to cheer up and try to be ok with life but to no avail. No one seemed to understand how much she meant to him. She was his everything. The start and finish. The be all and end all to his life. There wasn't a day that went by that he wasn't thinking about her and where things had somehow went wrong. He just couldn't comprehend that it was all gone. It didn't make sense....none of it did. That was the part that was driving him insane. No wait, it was the press and the fans. Their relentless questions didn't help him at all. How was he supposed to try and make the attempt to try and live life again when every time they had an interview he was asked about her? The fans had gotten to the point that they were making him sympathy cards. That's it...that was the worst. How could anyone think that was a smart thing to do? He had yet to get angry at a fan but there were a few times in interviews he went off on the person asking the questions. That didn't help matters any...instead it was giving him a bad rep in the press and it was upsetting his brothers. He wondered if she knew what he was going through. He wondered if she ever watched them on TV and noticed how hollow he was now. How empty he was....he couldn't help but wonder if he would ever feel whole again.

"Kevin please, answer your phone already man!" Joe yelled. He rolled over in his bunk and grabbed his phone only to see her name on the screen. He felt his stomach tie into a million knots and he knew he'd have to answer it before his brother went crazy.
"H-hello?"
"Hi."
"What do you want?"
"I wanted to talk." He scoffed, "You've already done enough damage. You have my heart so what is it you want next? My arms? My soul?" He heard her sniff on the other end of the line and knew she was crying. He didn't care if she was, in fact it made him feel slightly better knowing she was suffering too, as messed up as that sounded.
"I'm sorry. I-I guess you can have your heart back." She said and then hung up the phone. He fell back into his pillow and let out a soft yell. It killed him hearing her voice again but at least she gave him his heart back.
Tears fall to the ground when I think about
How life goes on without you now
You broke my heart on bended knee
Now that you're gone it's killing me
They were two months into their new tour and he found himself still feeling the same as he did on that night four months ago. In fact, he realized that this night was the official four month mark since that night. The night he asked her to marry him. The night she stood up and walked away from him while he was still on one knee. The night she smashed his heart.
"I asked you out here because....well because I wanted to ask you something." He stood as he pulled the box out of his pocket and got down on one knee. She gasped as he smiled up at her, "Sarah Anne I love you. I know I've said that a million times by now but it's true. When I look at you I see our future and it makes me happy. I know we're meant to be cause we've been through so much and we're still here, standing strong. I know that things won't always be perfect and I can't promise that we'll always get along but I know that at the end of the day there is no other person I want to be around than you. I want to be able to hold you as I fall asleep and gently kiss your forehead to wake you in the morning. I want you by my side forever, Sarah. Will you please do me the greatest honor and be my wife?" She sat there staring at him while he held the ring box out, awaiting her yes. Suddenly she felt the tears sting her cheeks. He noticed that the tears weren't the good kind of tears. His heart sank into his stomach as he watched her stand up.
"I....I just can't...I....not right now."
Life had still gone on but he still felt like that night had just happened. The concerts, photo shoots, interviews...the world kept on moving but he felt like he was still stuck. He wondered if she was feeling the same... He sighed as he layed down on the couch in their 'lockdown' room and began to silently cry. When was he ever going to be able to live his life again? When was he going to be able to think back on it and not want to hide and cry?
I am alone without you
Never wanted to say that we're through
Give me your love again
I won't believe this is the end
He watched as the room filled with his family, the band and crew from the show. They were having a 'meeting' and prayer time before they took the stage. He looked around at all the faces, seemingly happy, and he wished he could smile like them. Even though he was in a room full of people he felt so alone. She wasn't there. They were in her hometown and she was always at those shows. It was then he wondered if she might be there. He felt his heart sink at the thought that he might be getting ready to go out and perform and she'd be out there just watching.
"Rob?" He called out to Big Rob, their security guard. He turned to face him, "Yeah, what's up Kev?"
"Um..is there...is there any way I can have you check for someone in the crowd?" Big Rob just stared down at him, he knew who he wanted him to look for. It actually hurt him to see him still hurting after all these months and he contemplated saying no.
"Kev, you know who hard that'd be?" He shook his head, "I know...never mind then. Thanks anyways.." He walked away to rejoin his brothers who were just chatting away.
"Ten minutes till stage time!!" Someone called out. He didn't know who it was because he was just too engrossed in his own thoughts. Thoughts of being on stage and while performing she'd show up in the front row. Thoughts that he'd be in the middle of a cool guitar part and he'd look out and see her standing there starring at him. As much as he hated it, he kind of wished she would show up. Even after all these months he wanted her back, wanted her love again. He had tried to move on....he tried to let himself be open to new possibilities but he just couldn't. It made him feel like he was being unfaithful to her. His Sarah Anne. He stood upright as they made their way to the stage and he felt a new fire build inside him. He knew they couldn't be over....as much as she wanted to say so he wouldn't believe it. He had to get her back....he just had to.

"THANK YOU!" He just looked at Joe as he thanked the crowd for all their yells. They were half way through the show and he still hadn't caught a glimpse of her yet. His brothers knew what was going on and they tried to keep the energy up so he wouldn't look around so much but it wasn't working too well. He walked over to switch his guitar for the next song and his gut sank when he realized what song was coming up. It was one that he had started with and his brothers helped him finish.
"Now on this next one we want to hear you all singing along, ok? And give it up for Nick J on the drums for this one!" Joe yelled. He sighed as the crowd erupted for his little brother. Nick kicked them off and began the song...
"Broken hearts and last goodbyes
Restless nights, but lullabies
Broken hearts and last goodbyes
Helps make this pain go away..." He looked out to the crowd and then he felt his voice catch in his throat. A few rows in front of Joe was a girl holding a sign reading, 'I am sorry Kevin.' He recognized the long, red hair instantly and he couldn't move. He was surprised he was still able to play seeing her there. They finished the song and he ran over to Big Rob standing off the side of the stage.
"She's here!" He yelled. Rob smiled at him, "Should I go get her?" He smiled, "Like you have to ask."
"Alright...I'll see what I can do." With that he was on his walkie paging someone and he felt his heart beat pick up. He went to go back on stage when he noticed she was gone. He turned to Rob, "Did they get her already?"
"No, why?"
"She's....she's gone. Again." He said as he slammed his fist into the nearest wall. 'She left me yet again...I can't believe her!' He thought as he swung his guitar back around and went back on the stage. He was furious that she showed up and then left like that. What was she wanting from that? He felt the rest of the show just fly by him and soon enough they were back stage, getting ready to leave.
"I think now is the time to move on. Let her keep that one little piece and try to let her go. Things always work out best in the end, as cliche as it sounds." He turned to see Joe giving him a sympathetic smile. He nodded his head, "You know....I think you're right."

He recognized the long, red hair instantly and he couldn't move.
